You know you're the parent of a toddler when...
Well, I definitely know I'm the parent of a toddler. I'm a senior manager at a pretty large company. Depending on the project I can have between 4 and 12 people working for me. In a group of about 8 people yesterday, I excused myself from a working session using the following phrase:
"I'll be right back. I have to run and go potty." It will be years before I live this down. Please include your own experiences here! |
<---uses "potty" all of the time. At least you didn't specify further. ;)
|
at least you can go with out "the potty song" playing in your head. I had a preschool student with special needs who was afraid of the potty soooooooooooooooooooooo I developed "the potty song" and now I hear it everytime I go....torture:p

Pixies . . . birth control for the childless :jester:

Lilith - I had the Potty Song from the video "Once Upon a Potty" going through my head for months straight.
Steph - It definitely has its up sides, though. :D |
It's my potty and I'll cry if I want to,cry if I want to........Thank you Howie Mandel

Remember the movie "Look Who's Talking"
You gotta fight... For your right... to potty |
you know you've got a toddler when...
... when you are meeting with some high powered executives, you talk in your best child-friendly sing song voice...
|
you know you've got a toddler when...
... when someone asks for a tissue, you offer it to them, hold it to their nose and say "blow"...
Zipper xxx |
you know you've got a toddler when...
... when you try to wipe smudges off of colleague's and friend's faces with a tissue moistened with spit...
|
you know you've got a toddler when...
... when getting through a meal without getting splattered by food is seen as a major accomplishment...

Well, I tend to splatter myself with food when I eat sometimes. Maybe one day I'll get to experience that... :)
|
when you rock everything...grocery carts, etc. while standing in line. I still do this and my kids are teenagers! ;)

That's what parents do... |
And us childless people are in shock that people with teenagers still rock the grocery cart! :D

You had to post that, didn't you? I'm going to be going through the day singing that to myself all day now. :( LMAO It's my potty and I'll go if I want to ... la de dah :D |
The songs that get stuck in your head are the worst. I don't go many places so it's not so bad for me, but my husband says he finds himself singing them in school and at work.
Do potty songs work? We aren't that close...yet. My kid did just take her diaper off yesterday and potty in the dining room so I may just need a new song soon.... too funny! |
Well, I was sitting holding one of my cats that hasn't been feeling well the other day. Suddenly I realized I was rocking her. And my "baby" is 24!!! Guess old habits die hard.

You're in the grocery store and hear someone yell: "Mommy"..... and you look..... even though you know your kids are at home. (Mine are 21 and 17 1/2, but I still look) |
Lol... but that's a good thing Teddy!
I asked our little one for a cuddle the other day and he came over, slipped his arms around me, and gave me a big hug, even murmuring and patting my back softly! So funny - he'd never done that before and it was such an imitation of me!! |
