Krispy Kreme

Just read that Krispy Kreme stores are going to be opened in downtown Toronto. They've only been in the suburbs right now and I've managed to avoid them. Anyone addicted to those sugary, doughy delights?

Lovediva 09-11-2003 09:45 AM

I paid $10 for a box of them 2 weeks ago!!! It was a fundraiser for Pet Save! The were delivered right to my door from down South!!

I should of ordered 4 boxes....damn they are some good tasting donuts!!! Even if they are only "Honey Dipped!"

Oh ya..the box lasted us 5 minutes! I saved a donut for the next day and OH my....it was still very fresh!!!!

Run out to get some Steph!!! You won't be sorryyyyyyyyyy!!!

BIBI 09-11-2003 09:47 AM

I will not give in
I will not give in
I will not give in

At least not until the come near my city LOL

jseal 09-11-2003 09:49 AM

Ladies,

You're DOOMED!

osuche 09-11-2003 10:01 AM

If you don't *ever* try them, you're safe.

That's my philosophy!

Steph 09-11-2003 10:06 AM

I can't try them! When my sister comes to T.O., she actually drives waaaaaaaaaaay out of her way to get dozens.

osuche 09-11-2003 10:09 AM

Wow. Now that's dedication. And she's never offered you even a bite?

<grin>

Sounds like you may be doomed.

Lovediva 09-11-2003 10:11 AM

Well make sure you get in line or camp-out at the store when it opens.....you won't be sorry!!

And give your sister a smack for me..tell her it's no polite NOT TO SHARE!!!:D

Steph 09-11-2003 10:27 AM

But I don't want the evil things! :) If I had been Eve, I wouldn't have eaten the apple, either :)

fzzy 09-11-2003 10:58 AM

LOL Steph .... I'll have one now and then (they are close by here ... or at least close by California standards), but even though I love donuts and pastries ... the KK's are about 1/3 more sweet then a regular donut (at least that's my personal estimate) and because of that they taste OVER sweet to me. Of course, like I say, I have indulged in them occassionally ... it is nice to eat a still slightly warm donut. :D

Aqua 09-11-2003 11:15 AM

I don't get it... I've had them. They're okay, but nothing I would camp out for. I am in the minority though, I know. ;)

WildIrish 09-11-2003 11:23 AM

The first one I had was "okay", but the next 11 were friggin awesome!

Irish 09-11-2003 11:31 AM

You don't miss them until you have sugar Diabetes like me.I didn't
care about sweets until I couldn't have them! Now, I REALLY want them! It's like forbiding a kid to do something. Then they really want to do it! Irish
P.S.Praying for a LOW blood sugar reaction,so that I have to get my sugar up!

I will join Aqua in the minority. I don't like donuts at all, they make me feel ill.

Cheyanne 09-11-2003 01:26 PM

I guess I will have to join the minority. I don't care for the Krispy Kreme donuts, they upset my stomach and like fzzy said, they are very sweet...

Lilith 09-11-2003 01:59 PM

It's a southern thing ya'll! Fried dough and sugar glazed...hot and sweet just like me:D:D:p We have KK allllll over, even available everyday at the grocery stores. Kids sell them in highschool as fundraisers. Even if they put me in a coma it's tradition!

lakritze 09-11-2003 02:00 PM

Good News......You can now buy buy Krispy Kreme Doughnuts at your local Albertson Markets by the box or by the sack or you can enjoy a dozen or so right there with your Starbucks iced mochacappufrappaccino.

dicksbro 09-11-2003 02:03 PM

No store locally, but thank heavens, about once or twice a month ... some church or school is having them brought in and sells them for $5 a dozen.

They are good!

IggysGirl 09-11-2003 02:12 PM

I am hoping that there is a KK in Dallas. DD does NOT even compare.

Irish 09-11-2003 02:34 PM

Scarlett---They don't make a KK flavored,Slim-Fast,anyway!
Irish

Lilith 09-11-2003 03:23 PM

Iggy's girl~ just think though HEB has fresh tortillas made daily...............YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

IggysGirl 09-11-2003 03:33 PM

Lilith, nothing compares to fresh homemade tortillas! Now that is yum! Oh and some fresh guacamole. Now I am hungry.

Lilith 09-11-2003 03:41 PM

mmmmmmmmm~ I love guacamole. Now I am hungry. I shouldn't be, I ate Cuban food for lunch :slurp:

Irish 09-11-2003 03:48 PM

Iggysgirl---I get a Duncachino(sp?)at DD almost daily.I love them!
So far there are no KKs around here. There is a DD about 3/4mi.
away! Irish
P.S.According to the last napkins from there,DD has cosolidated
with TOGO's&Baskin Robbins!

Lilith 09-11-2003 03:58 PM

Our DDs are Baskin Robbin's too. They are 2 stores in one!!!!

BlondeCurlGirl 09-11-2003 04:09 PM

Madison is still waiting for our Krispy Kreme...they are trying to settle on a site, so it could still take awhile! I have tried them elsewhere; they are good, but I just don't see how they are heavenly like people make them out to be!

Give me a chocolate frosted, chocolate donut anyday!

Lilith 09-11-2003 04:16 PM

What I love about KK is watching them cook. I can sit there and drink coffee and watch that conveyor belt. A friend of mine has a lovely ring toss the sexy man's cock fantasy involving a KK:o

Sharni 09-11-2003 05:03 PM

Oz is sposed to be getting KK stores...sounds like i dont want one near me *LOL*

Cheyanne 09-11-2003 07:37 PM

 May be willing to be the devil's advocate and purchase KKs by the dozen and ship them to any Pixies who would want them

MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawww wwwwwww

BigBear57 09-11-2003 08:03 PM

The darn things are great, face it. 10,000 cops can't be wrong. LOL

I'll love ya forever if you send me just 1 KK!

dicksbro 09-11-2003 09:36 PM

Dang, I'm hungry for one right now. :(

Can you can weight just from reading Pixie postings?

Steph 09-11-2003 11:32 PM

I'm kinda disappointed because the stores we'll get downtown will just be shipping donuts in because of space constraints so we won't get to see the conveyer belt. There's another donut shop at Canada's Wonderland that has mini-donuts with the conveyer belt, tho'.

Irish 09-17-2003 09:16 AM

BUMP! I just wanted everyone to know that I saw on Fox News,
last night, that the KK stock, has dropped, because the interest in
the new oulets, isn't what the company expected. Irish

babybunny 09-17-2003 09:48 AM

I dont even like doughnuts so its all good ...lol..

Fangtasia 08-14-2011 03:56 AM

We got em, didnt last though, i hear they've closed, packed up and gone home...still havent tried them *L* At the price i seen them here, not a hope in hell i was ever going to either.

Oldfart 08-14-2011 05:59 AM

Krispy Kremes still have some of the most profitable stores running (I think).

They're donuts covered in sugary syrup and sprinkles, exactly what we all need.

Lord Snow 08-14-2011 07:33 AM

I'm more of a Dunkin' Donuts man myself.

dicksbro 08-22-2011 01:52 PM

It seemed like soon after their success made them "a wonder" the desire to reduce calories reduce their appeal. Peoria got one and within a year it closed. Had a bad location and worse for them they opened just when their popularity fell. :(

I liked them fresh ... but, day old KK's just didn't taste nearly as good for some reason.

Oh well, I shouldn't be eating them anyway.

Pita 08-22-2011 05:54 PM

I work just down the street from a Krispy Kreme. It is always funny how many people have a box or several next to them on a Sunday morning as they pull into our drive-thru for a latte.

I have had Krispy Kreme's and they are sugary bites of heaven that are a dangerous, but ohhhh so worth it! :)
