Holiday @ Isle of Man T.T.
 

Hi all; this is a selection of pix from Celticangel and my trip to the Isle of Man for the T.T. racing.....Bikes, landmarks and fun stuff..... but NO naughty ones! (Not YET, anyway!!)

This is the 3rd place rider of the first race (Formula 1) coming up the lane to the pits - they get so close you can talk to them, if you want!

This is a view from the hill at the side of "The Bungalow"... an 80-90mph left-right flick which exits over tram lines ~ NOT fun in the wet!

This is a model trike, from where I took the last pic... wanted CA to pose on this, but she wouldn't!! :(

The big bikes are putting out between 150-190 bhp..... this is the 1 horsepower form of transport!!

We were staying with friends of mine... this is the view from their front door/window!

We were walking along the Prom in Douglas one night, and saw this!! (It's a Kawasaki ZX-12R, for anyone who's interested!)

The dark patch on the left of the bike is a mix of oil, coolant and water..... the owner REALLY did a number on this!!

We went to the "Ramsey Sprint" on the tuesday.... and they had mini-motos there!!

This is how NOT to do it!!

I know there's a lot of Harley fans out there..... this one's for you!

I know I said there were no "rude" pix here..... well, this lass was "cheerleading" a drag racer, and was just BEGGING to be photographed!! (And yes they ARE real!!!:fly: )

(The wheel is 72 feet in diameter..... biggest operational water-wheel in the world!!)

The organisers put on a bit of a show at night, too...... in this case ............. FIREWORKS!!

Sorry about the flagpole on the left..... couldn't get anyone to move it!!!

Thursday - so it must be Peel! The "Purple Helmets" were in town that day......... with a new addition! Any budding piano players out there who fancy a go?!?! :)

Saw these in a shop in Douglas (the Capital of the Island)..... which one are you?!?!?!:eek:

Bit serious now..... this guy is doing about 140mph..... and the spectators on the other side of the road are closer than you see here!! (the black square thing on the left is a traffic-light box... the usual speed limit here is 30mph!!) The cable leading to the box to the right of the rider is from a kerb-cam...... a fella called Phil McCallen took that out with his knee a few years ago!!!

Remember I said we stayed with freinds? This is a GOOD bit of the lane to their house!!

Went to a shop in Ramsey (2nd biggest town) to order some made-to-measure leathers..... went out for a smoke and saw this ~ the owner has used a Simpson Bandit helmet as a headlight cowl.... pretty neat, I thought!

I wanted my Angel to pose on the trike, if you remember...... well she agreed to pose on THIS bike!!

I relented a bit, and let her sit on mine!!

She insisted on returning the compliment! ;)

Watched the last race (The Senior T.T.) from a spot called the Gooseneck...... makes for some good action shots! This fella is #2, and finished second..... lucky huh?!?!

When you look at this, bear in mind the riders start 10 seconds apart...... and this is on the FIRST lap!!

I shot a few mini-video clips of this corner.... but I'm not sure how to post them just yet!! (If you're interested, PM me and I'll Email them to you!)

Well, all good things come to and end (it was good for US anyway!!) and Sunday night found us on the boat home! This is called the "Tower of Refuge"... in days gone by, if criminals made it out here, they were afforded sanctuary from the authorities!

(Doesn't apply now, unfortunately!! :( )

This stretch of coast is called "Onchan Head" ..... only took this cos I used to live there!! Imagine the view!!!!!!

Hope you liked SOME of these...... I took a lot more pics, but I reckoned 28 pix of interest mostly to us was QUITE enough!!


Next lot of pix will be MUCH more like what most of us come here for.. promise!!
