What prompts you to PM someone?
 

I was just wondering what prompts you all to PM someone on the boards. Is it their av, what they post, or something else?

I have PMed others because of what they have posted.. whether it is to tease them or to just comment that I liked what they have posted. :)

Like most of us, I have many reasons for PMing. I’ll use it anytime I want to say anything to them personally AFTER I feel I know them a little.:)

That’s the key for me. The first PM to somebody is once I’ve seen enough of their posts to “feel” that I know them a bit. It’s especially easy if we have posted answers to each other or kibitzed on the board first.;)

I only PM members who I have a connection with.

To me it's not a point of first contact.

And I, oh so enjoy kibitzing on the board with you PF...

A very good post and i may PM someone, but mostly it is after I know that person. I rarely PM as a matter of habit, but I do accept all applications to sleep with me :D :D...yes PF you can pm me anytime ;)

I usually PM with someone who wants to speak to me about personal issues in their lives or to speak with someone about an issue in the forum or to help someone. Oh!!!! or to flirt;)

Usually to give people accurate directions to my house...

Most of the time it's to comment on a post that's made an impression of sorts, or to say hi to someone I have't seen in a while.

I PM someone when I have a question and don't want to clutter up the boards, most of the time they answer me back and I won't have to worry about someone else telling me to us the PMs:p

Not that I would know:o but I imagine trying to cyber in PMs would be the slowest fuck in the world!!!!

Probably a bit of everything but usually ... to mention something about one of their postings or to comment on a new avatar or just to say hello.

mainly I use PM to express a personal appreciation of what the person has said ..... or to say hi to someone I may not have spoken to in awhile .... of course both may include a bit of flirting in the process.

I rarely use pm's they feel so dirty :d a few people have pm'd me, but I will protect the names of the guilty :D

I PM for different reasons to talk, because I find a interesting connection or to flirt too I like someone who just is nt interested in sex but someone who can carry a conversation I will answer all PMs I get which are rare lol

I use the PM when I want to send someone a message that does not belong in the open discussion of the forums. This board is a little different in that pretty much any and all topics come up in the discussion threads so PM here is not as needed as on forums where they are very strict about content.

I don't PM, if I was to I would ask first and keep it above the line and civil.

I normal just answer others PM's(not many) or to reserve my space in the dungeon:D ;)

I only PM when I know it's someone I enjoy talking to and someone I know would be My Friend. The friends here that I PM are just that. Love You Guys. :)

I usually spend my time answering other people's PMs rather than initiating contact with them.

The one notable exception to that is Fussy, whom I PMed out of the blue for no reason what-so-ever really. Just felt like it at the time.

I rarely initiate a PM......but I love to read and answer them when I get them. It's the first thing I do when I log in. Sending alot of thanks for compliments or giving a reason for certain things I say or do here are usually what my responses are about.

There are a few Pixies who have compelled me to PM them first........and that's all I have to say about that!

I PM mainly to communicate with friends but occassionally to compliment a post or welcome them.

I love using pm to get to know someone who catches my intention... either by picture... or by what they have written... i like getting to know interesting and passionate people better.... we can never have too many friends.... friends are fun...

A name or a clever comment. Always exciting to get a PM. 8-)

I usually PM if I'm impressed with a comment or pic. I'll even on occasion offer something more personal if I think I can identify with an advice thing. SOmetimes I'll even say Hi or Good Morning ... I love the people here.. it's great to get acquainted "off the board".

I'll PM for a number of different reasons. If I was particularly drawn to someone I usually PM them, if I have a question, want to console them etc. I save a lot of my PMs too.

Well your AV would certainly cause me too PM you Chey...... :devilish:

I hardle PM anymore since Lilith reserved my spot in the dungeon(post 26^)
