Light
Light breaks where no sun shines;Where no sea runs , the water of the heart push in their tides .
Dylan Thomas

There is a tide in the affairs of women

Which, taken at the flood, leads -

God knows where.

Byron, Don Juan

Women
If men knew how women pass their time , when they are alone , they'd never marry .

O Henry ( William Sidney Porter )

Alone, alone all all alone,

Alone on a wide, wide sea,

And never a saint took pity on

My soul in agony.

S T Coleridge

Sea

The voice of the sea speaks to the soul . The touch of the sea is sensuous , enfolding the body in its soft , close embrace .

Kate Chopin

Provokes me always to pursue

But spirit-like, eludes embrace.

Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of...
Mom's old-fashioned cider!
Mom's old-fashioned cider!

- Yosimite Sam, the Pirate

I heard a sound as of scraping tripe,

And putting apples wondrous ripe,

Into a cider-press's gripe.

The Pied Piper of Hamelin.

ripe

If you trap the moment before it's ripe,
The tears of repentance you'll certainly wipe;

But if once you let the ripe moment go
You can never wipe off the tears of woe

~ William Blake

Q: does the quote have to come from a well klnown author or can it be one of your own? :)

Aqua 04-30-2002 01:20 PM

Well the originator of this thread doesn't come here anymore, but I think her intent is for this to be quotes from authors, playwrights, songwriters, and such... although I think there may have been the occasional self quote thrown in once in a while. :D

Ps, Welcome to Pixies
