So glad you're back and home .... and that the surgery hasn't caused too much pain ... sorry about the back ... totally understand on that count, and if you're like me .... have a really hard time getting any quality sleep on my back as well, so it makes it harder to get the necessary healing rest ... hope the surgeon has a solution that will help! sending hugs your way!!

Ok feeling much better this afternoon....went out for lunch with Bilbo...then we had a leisurely wander around the shopping centre
My dressings were more off than on...so made an appointment with my GP to get him to redress and check out one nipple i'm abit concerned about *LOL* He's such a laugh....reckons he's gonna take up bra making for a living...anyway got a makeshift dressing to last me to Monday when i see the Surgeon...and he believes the nipple is just very bruised hence the different colouring....he didnt seem too concernerned I tell ya its so nice to walk around and not have the weight pulling at my shoulders |
Now for the time preceeding the surgery...i got to the hospital at 6:30 and was weighed (OMG shock horror) and told to put these on (gown, paper knickers, dressing gown and embolism stockings)
Got that done...then had to give a pee sample(oh the joys of aiming into a little cup) Then i get dragged off for an ECG...passed that no probs...Surgeon comes in armed with his camera, notes and black permanant marker *LOL* I then stand against the wall while he clicks away at varying angles, then sit on the bed while he measures and doodles away on me boobs......i swear by the time he's finished it looked like an inner city road map *LOL* From thre i get taken to the waiting room....where the anaethatist drops by to have a chat....turns out he's not the one i was exxpecting *L*....but i preferred this one....he told me i was disgustingly healthy for a person of my weight....he runs trough the risks and stuff then he was off In walks a thatre nurse to take me to theatre....so off we mosey....first thing that come to mind was the table...it looked like Jesus's cross *LOL* So anyway i park meself on the bed while they adjust and get it all ready....i get the massage doovies put around my legs to help prevent clots...then a heating blanket get put on top. The assistant surgeon introduces himself...and he was such a lovely guy....he chattered away merrily....and he hid the anaethetists coffee *LOL* reckons it was payback cause he was late *LOL* Assistant surgeon put a drip in my hand cause the anaethetist was late...so they were all ready and just waiting I was not at all nervous...i was excited as though In walks the anaethetist finally *LOL*....he turned to me and says i'm here to give you some drugs...i laughed and he picked up the drip and thats all i remember of before the op |
After the op.....now this could be slightly patchy *LOL*
I came out of the anaethetic...the surgeon telling me it all went well...and that he'd taken 5kg!!...and nurses buzzing around everywhere like a hive of bees....blood pressure, pulse rate, oxygen levels, and all the other stuff over and over again My first words were i need to go to the loo...oh the bed pan (fucking horrible things)...anyway lol...i musta been hanging on for ages cause i filled it could've quite easily have filled another....so that was the topic of conversation for a while *LOL* My second words were....i really dont feel well...and do you have a ....too late...it went everwhere So needless to say a complete bed and clothes change was in order and i must say that was painful . I can recall parts of getting to my room...but nothing exciting happened Got to my room and made comfortable...i've got 4 drains...2 in each boob....the massage doovies on me legs still...oxygen up me nose ...a drip in still with an added morphine self administer thingy and all i could think of was....i can see me toes *LOL* I was dopey and not at all with it on the first day....i kept getting temps of 39 which was concerning them and the put shit in the drip and needles in me legs and tablets i kept getting given....fucked if i know what half the shit was Wednesday i was sposed to go home....but everything i'd eaten or tried to eat didnt wanna stay eaten so i hadnt managed to keep anything down since my last meal Monday night....i felt like shit to be honest....apparently i was reacting badly to the morphine...so i refused to touch it anymore so they took it away...and kept me in another night....that night was full of vomits and temps again Thursday i felt much better....the morphine had prettywell worn off.(fucking evil shit i tell ya!!) I was assisted to shower and was sitting up dressed and felt more human than i had in days The Surgeon did his rounds and said you really look much better today...i said yep and i love me boobs thank you....he chuckled and left Tursday at home i fell into a bit of a hole again....my temp played up a bit so i slept most of the day away...my workmates sent me some beautiful flowers which perked me up a bit Friday has been great....i've peeked at me boobs *LOL*and been up and about most of the dayand well i just feel good |
Yeah!!! So glad you're feeling better now!!
|
((hugs)) I'm so glad you are OK and happy with having done it! What makes me mad about DR.s and hospital is that they do have a drug that will stop the *heaving your guts out* but it's very costly and they will often refuse to give it. It's called Zofran, and I suggest anyone who is ever having surgery to tell them before hand that you want it given to you bother before and after sutgery.
Too late to help you but it pisses me off they allow people to feel so ill when they can stop it. |
Thats sounds like the stuff they injected into my legs....didnt bloody work *LOL*....they seemed suprised that it didnt...it wasnt til the morphine wore off that i could keep anything down
|
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I remember having the same thought about Jesus' cross when I had a surgery about 4 years ago.
|

Hon, as I recently had some surgery I haven't posted much
BUT......you and your surgery have been on my mind a lot! I peeked in tonite specifically to see how it went for you and here you are already updating everyone on your new boobies! :p 12!!! POUNDS!!!!?!?! Like zowie lady, I can imagine the difference you feel is dramatic. SO glad the pain is subsiding for you. Oddly I found over the counter meds to work better than the ones my doctor prescribed. Please update after you've had your first shower. :D I found that SO fun. I could wash under my breasts without having to use both hands to lift them up! LOL p.s. pantyfanatic, as always you made me snort and giggle. you're such a joy! |
*LOL* RE: first shower
