How long before the cherry shrimp are big enough for the barbi? :bite:
The girl's coming along. (deep foot prints she's walking in) ;) |
Thats as big as they get *LOL* You'd need a few for a feed!
Nika isnt Scoob thats for sure. She has learnt one of his habits and when she does it i still expect to turn around and see my old Oobert!! |
Noah, are the cherries fresh or salt?
Are they alone in the tank? |
They are freshwater.
They reside with some juvie peppermint bristlenose, other than the BN it is just them :D |
Great pictures ... tell Nika she's a great model.
|
With that many shrimp it'll be one hell of a clean tank. My mom and I always kept a couple of small catfish and some ghost shrimp in our tank to help keep it clean.
|
Ooooh, the shrimp are so cute!
|

We had a beta about that color once. He's very handsome.

D'Artagnan? No Athos, Porthos, or Aramis?
|
Thanx :D
They dont play well woth others of their own kind |
They do so, but only after they've killed them.

Noah;
yeah, he's pretty, but what has him so excited that he's so pretty ? |

Just means you'll have to set up separate homes for all four musketeers. |
This is true OF *L*
He is flaring at his reflection, so yep 'cause he's so pretty Separate homes? - errrrrr nope *L* |
I have seen them in bottles, grown too large to come out the neck. A bit like a ship in a bottle.

More patience than I have.
My current animal interactions are shooting at cane toads with my slug gun. |
What's a cane toad and what's a slug gun? Is it like shooting bull frogs with a pellet rifle?
|
Yes i would say its the same LS :)
|

Does the habit involve duck feathers?  |
Quote:
Did they move to the RIGHT side of the tank because they know where EVERYTHING should travel? :car:  |

Cane Toads are vermin imported into Australia in a misguided effort to combat some pests in the sugar-cane fields of Queensland. Think of the Simpsons episode where Bart smuggled his pet into Australia and it turned into gazillions. A slug gun's a .177 in air rifle which shoots hourglass shaped pellets. It is not a BB gun. Bullfrogs are native (to you) ugly things. Cane toads are toxic monsters. |
A pellet rifle shoots .177 hourglass pellets. A bb rifle shoots .177 round copper bbs. Thank you for clearing up the cane toad thing though.
|
I only know them as 'pellet' guns. I'll have to introduce two younger generations to "SLUG" gun. :)

Mwahahaha I was right, i thought you pellets were our slugs. Mark 1 for me!!! |

That is a really neat background. What is it made of and how did you do it? |
The background is made of styrofoam (from foam boxes), foam is ripped, cut into basic shape, then melted to get more realistic shapes, its then covered in a render layer, then covered in 2 coloured render (brown) layers, then other coloured cement oxide colours are mixied with water and blended in to make it more real looking. Then it is coated in 4 layers of pond sealer.
It is not exactly as it should have worked out, sealer went slightly white. But it is still inert and i actually dont mind the look. I will be making some more soon, i'm going to try sealing with epoxy (danged expensive!) |
The maingano have now gone and tank gone in a different direction. Awaiting the main attraction - 12 platinum angels (they will be babies but will grow) ![]() 4ft planted ![]() 2.5ft Ram tank ![]() 2.5ft Kribensis breeding tank ![]() 1.5ft Kribensis breeding tank ![]() |
