It's 5:25 p.m. and I'm still here at work, the good news is we will finish early this evening at about 8:00 p.m. and I don't have to work tomorrow. I've hit a lull, so I'm in the games!!

dicksbro 09-13-2003 10:40 PM

It's nearing eleven. The rain held off for the parade this morning. My daughter's family came to watch. We had lunch together and then went to their house to see our other daughter and her family when they got done at a wedding reception. Busy day.

Sharni 09-13-2003 11:43 PM

Tis 2:42 Sat...and i'm about to pop out and buy some algae eaters for the new tank set up

I'm dying to get the plants in...but one has to be patient *sigh*

Steph 09-14-2003 12:26 AM

I'm looking forward to Monday, my only day off. I'm going to pound the pavement, look for cool jobs that get me away from customer service. It's been cool, casual, great people to work with but enough's enough!

dicksbro 09-14-2003 08:09 AM

About ready for church, then planning to run over to our daughter's house for lunch. Then, back home to Pixies. :)

Steph 09-14-2003 10:16 AM

I woke up thinking I had already worked my extra shift but noooo, I have to go in for one more day.

I'm looking forward to a new job with normal hours. I haven't had much time with Tyler since we moved to Toronto because our schedules are so different.

I also miss out on many weekend events. I'm missing the Vegetarian Food Festival today :(

dicksbro 09-15-2003 05:25 PM

Another work day. Worked from 7 to 1 today then took a nap. Now, it's time for some fun playing on pixies for awhile.

osuche 09-15-2003 06:25 PM

I spent the day tying up loose ends. I had lunch with some friends, started packing for TN, got info on my new corporate apartment in TN, and sent the cat (my only child) off to stay with grandma.

Then I drove my sweetie to the airport for his flight to San Francisco. It's only three months, and I will see him in a couple of weeks, but it feels so final. We're saying "goodbye" to our quiet and predictable life together in Columbus.

I've felt excited all week, but tonight I just feel sad...and drained. I wonder sometimes why we work so hard and value our personal lives so little. Am I making the right choice?????

Only time will tell.

Steph 09-15-2003 07:00 PM

I cooked some new Indian food tonight - sambala and the like. It was delicious. Housework's done, relaxing evening ahead.

PantyFanatic 09-15-2003 07:10 PM

I missed it too.

I'd love to see you able to get it.

Steph 09-15-2003 10:49 PM

Smart ass indeed!

Nice car!

dicksbro 09-16-2003 05:20 AM

1. Woke up early.
2. Came to Pixies.
3. Looked at vehicle picture while keeping fingers crossed for Sharni.

:)

osuche 09-17-2003 12:22 AM

Stayed up late (I'm waiting in hopes some night DB will meet me in the middle), drove to Dayton, staring down the camera which is calling my name.

dicksbro 09-17-2003 04:45 AM

LOL@osuche. Just drove by Dayton a month ago on our way to Cincinnati. I waved, but didn't see you. (Now I've got to explain why I was waving so. :))

Today ...

1. Long work day
2. Some yard work to be done
3. Pixie posting (standard part of my daily routine :D)

dicksbro 09-30-2003 04:21 AM

As usual, when I got up I first came to my computer so I could log into Pixies. But today, I got delayed as my wonderful wife woke when I did and we took time to cuddle close. :)

Another couple of hours, though, and it'll be off to work. Little shorter hours than yesterday, but still be on until 2PM.

Think I'll get the car washed then and maybe start waxing it before winter gets here (although I may wait until tomorrow when I get off at noon). :(

Steph 09-30-2003 10:58 AM

I've got to get a job with regular hours. It's tough to maintain a relationship when you only see each other on Sundays and Monday evenings. Last night Tyler worked until 10 p.m. so we didn't even have much of an evening.

I do have a job interview on Friday and am looking every day for more jobs. We're also going to look for a bigger place because our lease is up in March and we don't want to leave here after that . . . once I get a better job, we'll be looking at having kids, too.

I also have a lot of stuff to do before surgery in October . . . I hope I'm not off work too long.

dicksbro 10-01-2003 05:22 AM

Steph, didn't realize you had surgery coming up. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Anyway, kind of chilly this morning (chance of frost in some low areas). Gotta do some caulking and start that car waxing that I didn't get to yesterday. :(

Plus, of course, gotta spend some time here at Pixies. :D

Steph 10-01-2003 08:36 AM

Yep, I've got to get a ligament fixed in my knee. It's probably only day surgery but the quicker I can bend the thing again, the quicker I can drive my standard to work!

Thanks, DB :)

WildIrish 10-01-2003 08:50 AM

Stop kickin people in the ass and it'll be fine!

But I guess the damage is done, so best wishes for a speedy recovery Steph.

Gray and chilly day here in NE. Ran out of underwear again. I really should go shopping one of these days. Maybe if going without wasn't so refreshing I'd have more incentive.

Really should tune up the Intrepid before it gets too cold.

Steph 10-01-2003 10:03 AM

LOL, thanks WildIrish. I can't stop kicking PF, though! It's in the Canadian Constitution!

Of course, we don't have a Constitution 'cept for the one I wrote that states the above!

dicksbro 10-04-2003 04:43 AM

Early up again today.
Going to go watch my grandson play football.
Happy about the Chicago Cubs winning last night. :)

Steph 10-04-2003 11:24 AM

I have four vacation days booked off for surgery - the day before, the day of and two days after. Then it's my weekend . . . I also have four sick days left for the rest of the year. It might be enough time off to recuperate before I head back to work. It'll be a long slog of physio - six months of tedious work but it'll be worth it.

I'll probably reach DB status in posts since I'll be housebound for days! We live on the second floor, after all.

It’s so nice to be special.;) LMAO

You have to change the surgery date. I have an appointment that day and won’t be able to go with you so they can get your foot out of my ass.:)

How do Siamese twins do it?

PantyFanatic 10-04-2003 12:54 PM

I think they take turns.:) ... and I have something other than my foot in mind for your ass.;)

dicksbro 10-05-2003 01:55 AM

Kind of a scratchy throat. Going to try and take it pretty easy today and see if I can't shake whatever it is. Darn change in weather is catching up with me, I think.

Steph 10-05-2003 10:26 AM

Lots of people at work have the sniffles, too. I had them yesterday as well but I think it might have been allergies. We think it's probably the change in seasons, too. The temperature dipped so bloody quickly!

I'm going to troll eBay to check out used DVD prices.

dicksbro 10-08-2003 05:04 AM

At least the cold (or whatever it was) seems to be easing a bit. Throat isn't so bad, anyway. Taking it easy must have helped. Glad I only work until noon today.

Steph 10-09-2003 10:09 AM

We ended up giving our old DVD player to Tyler's brother.

I just came back from my physical in preparation for surgery. I'm fit as a fiddle besides the bum knee. In two weeks, I'll be in surgery! Crazy!

Surgery is in five days and I'm going o be immobolized for a while. I'm trying to fit everything in - laundry, groceries, errands, car stuff - before I get my leg ligament repaired. Life is almost surreal now. I'm pleasantly stoned right now and facing IV morphine to dull the leg pain.

Freaky. Recovery will be long but I'll have a strong, healthy leg again.

dicksbro 10-19-2003 04:26 AM

Steph, so wish I could just wish away your pain. You just take it easy. We'll keep up the prayers. ;)

For us, gotta' help at church this morning, then run a couple of errands. Other than that, hope to have a relaxing day.

Steph 10-22-2003 02:06 AM

Surgery is around the corner. I know it's not a HUGE deal. It's not my heart or lungs but shite! The knee/leg is complicated.

Luckily, here in Canuckville, my surgery is paid for by the government and my employer will pay me 66% of my wage when I'm away.

I'll keep my journal posted. I'll be careful of posting when I'm on painkillers :)

Sharni 10-22-2003 02:07 AM

Will pray for a speedy recovery for ya Steph!

Steph 10-22-2003 02:32 AM

Thanks, Sharni - It's going to fine. I just need tons of physio to get the leg at full capacity.
