Don't have a stretch problem, but still get error message if I use the chat link at the top.

Scarecrow 08-17-2004 05:11 PM

I have a 19" monitor and it is stretched about a half inch also.

Booger 08-17-2004 05:39 PM

the problem isn't the size of your computer it's the screen resolution that it is set at(800x600). the graphics of the caht bar are to long and cause the problem. It's easy enough to fix just go to the control panel then display then settings and change it to 1024 x 768 and you should have no problems any more this will make thing just a bit smaller and maybe if you have old eyes harder to read(this might be a sign you need glasses or time to get new ones).

MilkToast 08-17-2004 06:33 PM

strange... I tried some experiments with dropping the display resolution on my monitor down a step at a time (I usually use 1600x1200). Even at 1024x768 the browser (when full screen) did not have an issue with having to scroll the slider bar (as it was not there) when browsing the forums. The title image also seemed to resize appropriately. Only when I got down to 800x600 did it become and issue.

I checked on both Firefox 0.9.3 and MSIE (what ever version is in XP SP2). Are either of you running a resolution at or below 800x600?

On my puter I can change text size by going to the top ^ ^ tool bar.
Go to "View" and then "Text Size". Select a smaller size.
Maybe that will help those with the 'stretch' troubles.

Lilith, I got into chat using the new link on site. Got the annoying error message too. Also couldn't get my '@' with the usual command. It seemed to be working ok otherwise but I'll stick with pixiemIRC for now. Thanks. :) :)

I was going to recommend the resolution as well. I'm on a laptop that I'm certain is no bigger than 15 inches and no problems... but I have a higher numbered resolution as suggested above.

No, I was using 800x600. I've gone with Boog's suggestion but the text does seem quite small now. I increased the text size and poof, the scroll bar at the bottom appeared again.

LixyChick 08-18-2004 04:51 AM

*waiting this out for the finate suggestion...growling at the scrollbar*

Truthfully, it's really not that bad to scroll and I already wear glasses to read so I better not make anything smaller at the moment...LOL! I'll just sit this out till we get a final, definate suggestion.

BTW...I very, very rarely go to control panel...display...settings, cause I ain't all that prolific with this thang!

LixyChick 08-18-2004 05:07 AM

OK...being the curious one, I have to ask...how in the hell can you peeps find and read stuff with that high resolution?

Yep! I tried Booger's suggestion to change it and...holy friggin moly that was small at 1024x768! I'm set at 800x600, and I guess I have been from the start. If I change it now, Mr. Lixy will think he's aged overnight! LOL! I didn't have the scrollbar here at Pixies till just recently...so I've got to figure it's a Pixie thing. I also tried Teddy's suggestion but nothing significant happened.

Is it just me...or is this getting curiouser and curiouser? I know...I know...well, it's a word now!

I'll just be over on the Pixie sofa, waiting this out!--------------->

Lilith 08-18-2004 05:59 AM

Sorry for the aches and pains as things get settled from the recent changes. I'm trying to think of them as growing pains. I use the 1024x768 I think and just had not noticed.

Scarecrow 08-18-2004 04:14 PM

Ok the question is to scroll or not be able to read the writing on the wall???

800x600 is as small as these ol' eyes can take .... LOL

LixyChick 08-19-2004 04:45 AM

Awwwwwww! Ain't no thang Lil! I'm just glad to not be the only one it's happening to...cause I hate when that happens. It ain't all that bad. I was thinking of trying the changing of the resolution thingy sometime this weekend to see if Mr. Lixy can get used to it. If any other solution pops up in the meantime, I'll be watching for the instructions.
