Kitten says hi to all of you!

I have a grown Russian blue. She was cute like that when she was little. She is 14 years old now.

I'll bet she's beautiful. Is she a big kitty?

We had a surprise vistitor to the cathouse yesterday. Can't say that Lou was overly happy to see them. This one is Lou's evil glare of death Scotz.

That is one pissed pus!

Here is my girl. Old pic but I could not find any more recent.

dicksbro 05-19-2008 04:00 AM

Nice looking dog. Too bad dogs and cats don't get along better. We get the same reaction from our cats when our daughter and her family stop by with their little dog. Our "Stud" (who probably outweighs the dog 3:1) runs into our son's bedroom and hides under the bed. Our "Jasmine" will just sit there staring at the dog and swatting it if it comes too close. She's just as small or smaller than the dog.

IowaMan 05-19-2008 12:32 PM

Oh Lil, what a pretty kitty! I love those big eyes!

Yeah, that dog was absolutely beautiful. I guess he lives here in the neighborhood. I thought it may be my new neighbor's who are fixing up the house next door but I guess it had just gotten loose from it's home and my neighbors had attached him to the little tree so he wouldn't run away. Very friendly fella, he plopped right down onto his side so I could scratch his tummy when I held out my hand. lol

Here are the most recent pics of my little ones. And nope, still no names for them. And here none of you thought I could do it. :p

Neige 05-26-2008 06:15 PM

Booger 05-26-2008 06:17 PM

Say, that sounds like a chance to get together at Schooner's or someplace.

(IowaMan, you could bring one of the kittens over for Soda and join us ;) )

IowaMan 05-29-2008 09:53 PM

OMG, I wonder if one of the tenderloins at Schooner's would last more than two minutes with those kittens. :yikes:

dicksbro 06-03-2008 03:52 AM

* Sniff *

I don't think they're going to stop.

* Sniff *

We may just have to plan a Schooner's run sometime. :boink:

sodaklostsoul 06-03-2008 04:16 PM

No time to stop sorry DB.

Has anyone heard from IowaMan?

osuche 06-04-2008 08:20 PM

Monday he was OK...I think he was going to take the oldest set into the shelter today :(

sodaklostsoul 06-04-2008 11:51 PM

Thanks osuche!

dicksbro 06-05-2008 05:49 AM

Just have a safe trip, Soda. It's only 47-days until Nashville.

Poor kittens. Too bad that at least a few weren't selected by friends and neighbors. They're such precious little animals.

Well, I took the majority of the kittens to the shelter the other day. :(

I'm sure they'll end up with great homes, I just hope they aren't too upset that they'll be living a little bit less of a luxurious life for a little bit. Pretty sure they only get dry cat food there, I'm positive they won't be pleased with that.

Anyway, I did keep one kitten from each litter. From the first litter I kept the little all gray one, Lil says she's a Russian Blue. Her name is Dominique.

From the second litter I kept a little furball I like to call a Tuxico since she's sort of a calico version of a tuxedo cat. Her name is Socks.

So now the cathouse is down to five kitties. :yikes:

dicksbro 07-18-2008 05:16 PM

I think you made a wise choice, IowaMan. Those two kittens are absolutely precious!

I've no doubt the shelter will find good homes for the other!

BTW, it's sure good to have you back with us! :line:

sodaklostsoul 07-18-2008 09:56 PM

They be cuties!!!

Dominique is convinced that the white feet on the side of the box is a clydesdale but really it's only Socks playing around.

This is our most recent visitor to the cathouse. I've always been a fan of Agatha Christie and I named him after one of her characters. His name is Hercule. I thought he looked French so I named him Hercule. (Yes, I know Hercule Poirot was Belgian.) Plus, he meows back to me when I call him mon ami. :p

Anyway, Hercule is a very, very nice kitty but he's not in the best of health. He's very underweight and had some sort of lump on his back that burst about a week ago. So.......... I clean his wound everyday and do my best to dress it for him. He doesn't mind at all, just stands there purring.

And yep, Hercule likes to give me a hand when I'm trying to do work in the flower bed. He likes to play with the weeds after I pull them out.

Here are a couple of recent ones of the kitties. I swear in the first one that Lou is saying to me, "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" Ok, perhaps I've watched too much Monty Python over the years.

Pic #2 is Dominique giving me what seems to be a dirty look but she was actually pretty happy at the time of the pic. Not liking the flash so much though.

Then there's Dom and her bestest buddy Socks cuddling together.

#4 is Gabby, Dominique's mom. Finally got one where she didn't squint because of the flash.

Can't say the same about Fluffy (Socks' mom) in the last pic.

Lilith 09-15-2008 06:34 PM

Pretty kitties!

dicksbro 09-16-2008 06:49 AM

Great pictures, IowaMan! Thanks for sharing them.

Boy, the kids grow up quickly, don't they?

The kittens were 2 weeks old yesterday and and are doing just great and melt my heart each time I look at them or hear their little meows. :D

We have a little nightly ritual here at the Cathouse, each kitten has to be weighed so we can see if they're eating enough. Plus, they just look so damn cute in the scale! Should I perhaps have put these pics in our "Pixies Power" thread? :p

I haven't named them since I'm trying my best not to get too attached to them ( yeah, that's going well) but I will warn you that three of them look nearly identical. And did I mention that they are cute? :D

When I worked at Sikorsky Aircraft(in Conn),one of my nicknames was also
"Catman" but it was because I drank so much "Pink Pussycat" wine.Yesterday was 14yrs3mos since I quit Alcohol & other drugs! Irish :thumb:

Here's Socks, she's really growing up quickly.

dicksbro 10-11-2008 07:38 AM

Socks is looking lovely, IM. Tell her everyone says hello.

sodaklostsoul 10-11-2008 12:34 PM

Socks has cool coloring on her face.

IowaMan 10-29-2008 06:52 PM

Yep, Socks is a pretty one.......... pretty sneaky!

She just turned 6 mo. old the other day and Dominique turned 7 mo. two days later.

Today we're celebrating Lou's 2nd birthday. They told me he was 8 mo. old when I adopted him and that was in Aug '07 so I figure today is as good a day as any to spoil him.

Here he is earlier today watching my printer at work. He's absolutely fascinated with that thing.

Oldfart 12-12-2008 09:05 PM

Tricked again.

As long as he doesn't decide to go after that carriage head that most likely looks like a critter to him...

Reminds me of the first time Riley was in the room when the printer started up...startled her, she took off running, then turned & gave it a quick "WOOF!" ...from the safety of the doorway, of course...

Politics isn't a topic that comes up very often here at the Cat House but I got the distinct impression this afternoon while watching the inauguration that just maybe Socks and Fluffy are Republican. They didn't appear overjoyed with the pomp and circumstance that was going on in Washington. :roflmao:

dicksbro 01-24-2009 07:53 PM

Fluffy almost looks upset. Are you sure Fluffy wasn't expecting dinner invitations to the White House and then didn't get them?

Well, it was a year ago yesterday that my Gabby had her kittens. Since Dominique is the only one I kept of her litter, I thought I'd show you a then and now of her. Like anybody thought I could possibly let her birthday go by without posting pics.

Yep, she weighed 2 oz. and easily fit into the palm of my hand the day she was born and now she's a beautiful grown kitty. And she's not blurry anymore either! :lmao:

Thought I'd throw the one in of her mommy on the anniversary of the big day too. And no, I don't usually keep old moving boxes out in the house but if I were to put that one away, those cats would kill me! :yikes:

FlirtWithMe 03-27-2009 08:47 AM

Too cute :lurv:

dicksbro 03-27-2009 07:22 PM

Great pictures, IM! Dominique is a beautiful cat. her and mom look terrific!

IowaMan, think you might make it to Holland this summer? :wish:

Mae 03-28-2009 10:08 PM

Wow! Dominique is a gorgeous cat. What wonderful eyes!
