I would be remiss in not offering my best wishes for reasonably painless treatment & speedy recovery, whatever else comes. I also had a former SIL who still survives to this day after her bout with breast cancer some years back (she outlived my brother & has outlasted two subsequent husbands, BTW)

my family's love and support had been pretty intense and awesome too. it's pretty nice to feel so loved. not that i wasn't loved before the cancer, i guess cancer just makes me even more lovable:p

i'll keep ya'll posted on what's going on as i can. so far i have lots more tests to get - a bone scan, a ct scan, an echo, gene testing and blood test results . mastectomy is the way to go, the tumor is large, with chemo to follow. double mastectomy if i test positive for the brca gene mutation. radiation is a possibility after all the other stuff, including reconstruction, is done. it sorta depends on how close the tumor is to the bones in my chest.

So are you surfing for new bewbs yet? I think you should post pics of your options and we can vote :D

My mom kept having surgery every 6 months because of false positives on mamograms and eventually she asked if they could just give her the mastectomies and start from scratch. Instead they put in metal markers where they have already checked so they don't keep digging in the same spots.
