Thinking everything happens for a reason. I'm not sure what it is as of yet, but time has a way of revealing truths. You have heaps of love and support here and else where too I suspect. Some how I have a feeling things will work themselves out.

On the other hand, there is always the possibility of opening Ms. Lilith's School of Discipline and Reform I can see the queue now.

Lil,

Well, regardless of *their* bad behavior, know that you have the love and support of a throng of Pixies.

I kid you not.

I signed a reappointment letter yesterday then they said they made a mistake and can not reappoint new hires yet(there are 4 of us in this situation). They said it was the same for everybody. I politely informed them that I am not "everybody" and asked them if this means I'm a free agent until they can officially re-appoint me.Bastages!!!

Can you go to another school board for a job? This sounds far too shady for my liking. My dad was served well by his school board for his 40 years of teaching. This sounds sketchy, ((((((((((Lil))))))))))))).

Lilith 04-21-2006 04:30 AM

My district requires that new teachers perform acts of magic and cunning by somehow completing all the requirements for their job and an additional "new teacher program" which has required approximately 5-10 additional hours of work a week. Much of this is in the form of meetings and classes (I attended several all day Saturday ones) with long written assignments to complete afterwards, despite having just graduated from an accredited teaching college. My district does this because my governor decided it was a good idea to hire people without an education degree to be teachers and now must require school districts to turn them into teachers. So, I did all this extra work and now my school told the 4 of us who have hustled to complete a year long program in 4 months, that because re-appointment happens in April and we are not done with the program officially til May they can not simply re-appoint us. The catch 22 is that the chick who runs the "new teacher program" says we can't pass the program til we are re-appointed. Ahhhhhhhhhh I love bureaucracy.

It's not like they don't want me, I just am super frustrated.

Did you tell them that they're all liable to end up with piles of Pixie poop on them? Grrrr. I hate government.

Let's see, your governor...isn't he closely related to the infamous Global Village Idiot somehow? Must be a family thing...

Oldfart 04-21-2006 11:40 AM

It sounds like just another case of a quarter good idea turning into a total nightmare.

The fact that real people get caught up in it is irrelevant.

Welcome to the wide world of theory.

Did you know that someone with their head in a blast furnace and their feet in a bucket of liquid nitrogen was, on the average, pretty OK?

maddy 04-21-2006 04:13 PM

(((Lil))) I'm sure after a mudslide or twelve your troubles will seem to diminish for a moment.... I'll share them with you.... and we can plan the "powers that be" demise together :)

Don't let the bastards get you down...you WILL succeed. Persistence is most of the fight.

Keep smiling and that winning attitude...you WILL get over.

In the meantime, have another mudslide. I will take a Vodka martini, straight up, with a twist.

;)
