Ok, here's my story...when I became diabetic about a year ago, I went low carb crazy & dropped 65 lbs. in a few months...late last year I noticed that my blood sugars seemed to be back in control & I've gone back to including a few more carbs in my diet, & I seem to be maintaining well. I've been over #200 since I was in my teens, peaked out at #280 a few years back (I'm 5'11" now...lost a half inch already in my old age) I now weigh #170, 36" waist is a little loose on me now (that hasn't happened since I was 15). I love going low-carb since I love burgers, bacon, sausage, eggs...my cholesteral is good, my blood pressure is normal (that's very unusual in my family history), my only problem is a lot of loose skin now, my arms & legs look too skinny...well, I have this disc prob in my back now, but that's a different story altogether...
One point I have to make about Adkins, everybody talks about it like it's a new fad diet because so many have jumped on the bandwagon now, but it's been around for many years...I used the original Adkins to drop a few pounds back in '76... |
Hiya Scotz!!!
LOL! Sorry SS, but I hardly ever see that somnabitch anymore! We just got into this injector thingy. We have a marinade injector we can put yummy juices into our meats with. Beings it is BBQ season...and we just got a rotisserie (however the fuck you spell that)...we are injector crazy! Between the BBQ and the George Foreman grill, things never get bland around here! I think you can buy the injector at any store that sells grills, SS. In the meantime, I'll try and come up with some easy prep, yummy tasting recipes for ya! BTW...go jenna...go jenna...go jenna! <----forgot to say that in my first response! TeeHee! |
As an aside,George Foreman is making a boxing comeback! He has lost much weight.Obviously,he isn't exercising with cheese-
burgers, anymore.I don't know if he did anything besides training, to lose the weight. You could, probably, find the method in a search! Irish |
I would assume he makes use of the grill he promotes, as well as normal boxing training.

I am glad to hear that you joined up at Curves.. it is a great way to work out... 30 minutes passes so quickly that by the time you realize you are working out.. it is over :) They recommend 3 times per week, in my case, I choose to go 5 days a week.... tho I HOPE that once I get this off I will drop down to 3 days a week..
I am walking as well... 3 miles a day.. sounds like alot.. but I break it down to 2 1.5 mile walks (1 in the morning, 1 in the evening).. I am being VERY careful.. I am NOT over-doing it.. and am being realistic with my goals... I am certain tho.. that exercise is the key.. and I wish you lots of luck with it SS. :) |
Low Cart Diet
Tesco, Britain's largest supermarket chain, is testing a new shopping cart designed to be hard to push. The "Trim Trolley" allows shoppers to select a resistance level, and sports a pulse monitor, speedometer and calorie counter which calculates how much weight they're losing. If the carts prove popular, Tesco said it would roll them out widely. From WOKQ newsletter! Irish |
