Nancy Drew, Bobbsey Twins, and a large thin picture book when I was very little entitled "The Golden Egg Book". A lot of Dr. Seuss.

Eliza~ Among my student teacher friends The Trumpet of the Swan was an all time fave and I have not read it although I own it :spin:
dicksbro~ Green Eggs and Ham was written on a bet. He was given a list of words and bet that he could not write a book only using those words! Glyndwr~ of course, I should have known you'd choose him. He ranks with Babar in my heart! SS~ all superb selestions and I would add Holes, Tuck Everlasting, Walk Two Moons, Ella Enchanted, and Bud, Not Buddy. Mae~ I have my The Golden Egg Book still. Last year I told Skipthisone about a book my mother used to read to me as a very small child Hi, All You Rabbits. I had searched for that book for years and within a few minutes he had found it for me. Made me warm and tingly allll over:D Funny how childhood books can bring so much joy to grown ups. |
as I got a little older one of my favorites became the Penthouse Forum.........................J/K I've never picked up a Penthouse in my life !!!
I think it was Hustler |
I can remember reading Penthouse forum when I was a senior in highschool :slurp: No wonder those little boys always seemed to disappoint:p

Lillith - Terrific! I thought I was the only one that had that book. I think they reprinted it a few years ago. :)

"Mother, Mother, I Want Another" by Maria Polushkin was my favorite growing up. Here is the review from Publisher's Weekly, taken from Amazon:
Trying to get baby mouse to go to sleep, Mrs. Mouse enlists the help of her friends in response to his cries of "Mother, mother, I want another," thinking he wants another mother, until he tells her he wants another kiss. "Polushkin's comedy of errors accelerates into a whirlwind of crises," PW said, "and the richly hued paintings burst with life, humor and imaginative touches." I also loved "The Secret Garden." |
Gotta be "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss

LOL...Lil, that is the only Dr Seuss that I read where my mind goes completely raunchy.... "Would you could you in the dark?" "Would you could you in the rain?" "Would you could you on a train?" "Would you could you on a boat?" "Would you could you with a goat?"... ...never mind! :p rabbit |
