ooh, ooh, did anyone else see the world premiere on mtv today. it was the video for "across the stars" (i think that's the name of it), and it's off the episode 2 soundtrack. it was very cool, contained a lot of cool clips from the movie. boy, i can't wait till may 16!!!

My mate is a manager in a cinema here in Glasgow Where Ewan McGregor is presently filming another film...

Subject: A pretty damn cool morning...


So George Lucas decides to send an advance pre-censor print of Episode II to London for Ewan McGregor to watch.



Ewan is in Glasgow filming. He goes to the UGC in Glasgow to see a couple of films and I get to meet him. He phones up a few days later and asks if we can show the film for him to save him a trip to London.



So a rep. from 20th Century Fox flies to Glasgow with the print. He brings the film in to us yesterday in 7 parts. They are all assembled and checked but the film isn't allowed to be run through a projector.



The chief projectionist and I watch over everything to make sure all is perfect.



He takes the last 2 parts back to his room at 1 Devonshire Gardens and literally sleeps with them.



He returns at 7am this morning for a run through of the film to check its perfect before Ewan arrives at 10.



And ... wait for it ...



Asks if the projectionist and I will watch the film in the hall to ensure everything is ok.

I hate cocky people ... but getting to see Episode II in a hall by yourself (the projectionist went back to the booth) with the sound level at full (which we aren't allowed to do with customers) before any further cuts are made and before Ewan McGregor himself has seen it. All adds up to a pretty damn cool morning.

O.K. Who all went? How was it? Better or worse that Episode 1? I'm not asking for what happened but give your reviews. Some of the guys in my office went and they are driving me crazy talking about it.

Much better than Episode 1. It kicked so much ass!!!! I am going to see it again really soon.

My son saw it at one of the midnight showings last night. He said it most definitely "Kicked Ass!!". He said the story line was much better than Episode 1...regardless of how good the special effects were. He's generally a pretty good amateur critic, so if he says it's good it is.:D

it was much much much better than episode one... a totally different experience this time around... I would even consider going to see it again...

I must say... the Yoda sceen kicked some major butt!

(at the moment I'll put this one in a tie with Spiderman)

I think Spiderman was better overall. But I really enjoyed Ep2. I already have tickets to see it again!! And man does Yoda kick ass!!!! :o Holy crap!! I also think the acting could have been better... but the action makes up for it. Just my opinion. :D

Spiderman was way better. The acting was horrible. I did not buy Anakin at all:( Some good parts but really fairly slow.......fell asleep:o

I thought it was pretty good, the acting in some parts was a little dry, but the effects were really good, and who knew that Yoda could move like that!:D (when Count Dooku mentioned lightsabers, i had to admit i laughed:D Did anyone else?)
But Anakin, BRUTALLY HOT MMMMmmmmmm!!!! Dont ya just wanna be a Jedi? How cool would that be?:D :D :D

I haven't seen Spiderman yet, it doesn't open here in the uk 'till NEXT MONTH:mad: :mad: :mad: !!!!!!!

I saw it last weekend! It was pretty good..although Spiderman is way better! :)

Only thing I didnt like was the cheesiness of Anakin.... I just dont think the acting way that great! But the scene with Yoda at the end totally kicked ass!!

Yoda - how cool is the little green dude. he kicks ass! pretty good moves for a 900 year old! :p

I didn't see spiderman, and don't plan too until I am forced to over and over when it comes out for home use.
I waited impatiently for EP2 to come out. I was a little nervous about the love story, and didn't feel that they played it off.
The rest of the movie was great, and I felt he did a great job of showing the dark side coming to surface.
Bobo Fett looked pretty pissed! It explains alot.

I just saw it for the second time today. It still kicked ass!!! Like everyone else I loved the part with Yoda. Very cool. The love story seemed a bit choppy, and the acting had a few moments where it could have been better; but, overall, i think hayden did a decent job as anakin. He was playing a whiny little brat, and he conveyed that well, along with the anger and hurt he felt. I really loved it. I would put it right up there with spiderman.

Yes, there are female Jedi... Shaak Ti, Luminara Unduli, and Aayla Secura are three that I know of...

Ok, I know I'm gonna get slammed for this, but I was HORRIBLY dissappointed with Episode 2. Christopher Lee, Sam Jackson and at times Ewan McGregor were the only ones who didn't act like they were reading their lines off cue cards. The plot jumped around so much that, at times, you had no clue what was going on. Maybe if I were to see it 2 or 3 more times, it would make sense, but I don't know if I can submit myself to it again. The love story was just thrown in to show where Luke and Leia come from, but Hayden and Natalie both were horrible in their parts. I've seen both actors in other films and they were great. As far as special effects, yeah they were great, but did EVERY scene have to be all about the effects. The Yoda scene was rediculous...I'm sorry to say it, but that was the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time. Again, I know I'm probably gonna get slammed for putting down the film, but I'll just say that Lucas needs to redeem himself with Episode 3 after two horrible films.

Thanks for the support Lil....Spiderman kicked some MAJOR ass. I'll definitely see that one a few more times.

I thoughtn Hayden was brilliant in the scene where he confessed to Padme about murdering the Tuskens.

Also when he looked up from his mothers body that look in his eyes was pretty convincing.
