Definitely beats the hell out of political arguements. Still lots of time before kickoff though, who knows where it could all lead......
Been thinking about the game though (as I'm at home sick with a bitch of a sinus infection) and I'm not really sure who I think will win. I've seen lots of both teams this year and they are both incredible. Ohio State came into Iowa City and shoved an apple into my Hawkeyes' mouth and proceeded to slam them up the ass for three hours (figuratively, of course) while the Iowa/Michigan game was more of a hard hitting battle that found Michigan wearing Iowa down in the end. I really think that Michigan's offense hasn't shown it's best side yet though. They seem to me to have every bit as much firepower as the Buckeyes on that side of the ball. Defensively and the special teams seem to be a wash for me too. So what's my point? Not really sure at this stage of the game, I guess I'm just looking forward to the next shots to be fired between osuche and 1nutworld. :D |

osuche, I'm not having a problem with anything you are saying on here. Yes UM and OSU are bitter rivals, but no (fighting) words about the rivalry will diminish my respect and admiration, not only for you but your friendship. As far as I'm concerned, you don't need to stop. I'm just trying to have a little fun here with things...and my guess is that you are as well. Correct me if i am mistaken. I have seen some political discussions here, get quite involved and personal, but I certainly don't feel like I am being attacked, and I certainly hope you don't feel that I have attacked you. I guess untill I hear otherwise, from osuche, a "cease fire" is taking place...... |
LMAO! I'm having a great time. And laughing my head off. :line:
However...I was trying to be sensitive to people like SDLS and others who might not be all that interested in watching us rip one another to shreds. As long as everyone knows we're just having fun....I say.... BRING IT ON!!! |
Two boys are playing football at a park in Ann Arbor, Michigan, when one of the boys is suddenly attacked by a crazed Rottweiler. Thinking quickly, the other boy takes a stick and shoves it under the dog's collar, twists it, and breaks the dog's neck, thus saving his friend.
A sports reporter who was strolling by sees the incident and rushes over to interview the boy. He tells the boy, "I'll title it 'Young Wolverine Fan Saves Friend From Vicious Animal.” "But I'm not a Wolverine fan," the little hero replies. "Sorry, since we're in Ann Arbor, Michigan, I just assumed you were," says the reporter and he starts writing again. He asks "How does 'Spartan Fan Rescues Friend From Horrific Attack' sound?" "I'm not a Spartan fan either, " the boy says. "Oh, I thought everyone in Michigan was either for the Wolverines or the Spartans. What team do you root for?" the reporter asks. "I'm an Ohio State Buckeyes fan," the boy replies. "They're the best." The reporter smiles, starts a new sheet in his notebook and writes: "Little Bastard From Ohio Kills Beloved Family Pet." "cease fire" OVER!! GO BLUE!!! |
Q: Why do the trees in Marysville, Ohio lean southeast?

I was just having fun...didn't mean the thread was bad or nothing. Sometimes sarcasm dose'nt always come across well. :D
My bad.....continue on!! |

1nutworld, I do try to never go against the grain or ruffle feathers... |
jseal,
Not a problem, my friend! It just struck me as funny, since so many people have favorites. Nothing wrong with being neutral, just ask the Swiss, they've been surviving quite well with it for a long time. |
Q: What do you call a Michigan cheerleader with two brain cells?
A: Pregnant. |
Q: What do you get when you have a basement full of Michigan fans?
A: A Whine Cellar |
Q: Whats the best way to get a Buckeye cheerleader into your dormroom?
A: Grease her hips. |
An Ohio State University fan walks into a doctor's office and removes his hat to reveal a frog sitting on his head. The doctor asks, "How can I help you?"
The frog replies, "I was wondering if you could help me get this wart off my butt." |
Q: Why do the University of Michigan grads hang their diplomas from the rearview mirror?
A: So they can park in the handicapped spaces. |

 Q: Why don't they teach drivers ed and sex ed on the same day in Michigan? A: It's too hard on the mule. |
Since the audio clip file I wanted to insert here is "too big". I'll insert a quote instead
Any thread regarding UM and OSU, wouldn't be complete without a reference from long-time Michigan broadcaster, the late Bob Ufer. It's not a reference to OSU, but it does signify the attitude that I'm sure UM is bringing to the game. The quote is from Bo Schembechler, at a tribute to Mr. Ufer. "As I stand here, I just know that Bob Ufer is looking down at me from up there in football's valhalla and he's saying to me ... 'Bo, you can do it. MEE-CHIGAN can do it. MEE-CHIGAN can do anything.' Anyone who's interested in finding out more about the late Bob Ufer, please visit this site. www.ufer.org |

OMG, you guys are making my day with these Mich/OSU jabs. Sort of nice to see them when they aren't being fired by Iowa and Minnesota fans at each other. :D
Greasing the Ohio State cheerleader's hips to get her in the dormroom about made me spit out my coffee. :roflmao: |

Today, ESPN.com has posted an article about Bob Ufer and his unique antics, complete with audio of Bob Ufer on the microphone. |

The is only one problem with the OSU/ UM game
Somebody has to win. P.S. Thank god its basketball season. |
I'm BAAAACK!
Q: What is blue and yellow and has two teeth? A: The front row at Michigan stadium. Q: How many Michigan players does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A: One, but he gets three credits for it. |
Quote:
LOL :) Glad you're back, safe and sound. On the subject of lightbulbs: Q: How many OSU freshmen does it take to change a light bulb? A: Zero, it is a sophomore course. |
Q: How many Buckeyes does it take to install a new lightbulb?................................
A: 10 !! One to hold the light bulb, and 9 more to drink till the room starts spinning. |
A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Michigan fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they are Michigan fans too.
Wanting the teacher, of course, to like them and not really knowing what a Michigan fan was, hands fly into the air. There is one exception. A little girl named Jane did not go along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. Because I am not a Michigan fan, she reports.* The teacher asks her "what are you then" Well, she says, My mom is a Buckeye fan and my dad is a Buckeye fan so I am a buckeye fan. The teacher being a little red faced, asks, " what if your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot, what would you be then? Jane smiles and says " then I'd be a Michigan fan". |
well, thanks for the contribution PF!
I see that you're a member of the majority that pick OSU in this one, huh? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, wrong or not! :) I'm expecting the ESPN poll that I've referred to a couple of times to surpass the 500,000 votes tally either today or tomorrow. There hasn't been change of percentage of the 448,790 votes, still OSU predicted to win by 58% of the voters. |
Q: If 3 Michigan players are in a car, then who is driving?
A: A police officer. |
Buckeye's are proof of reincarnation.
You can't get that dumb in just one lifetime. |
Countdown to Kickoff
2days 23hours 16mins 50secs GO BLUE!!! |
Q: What does a tornado and a Michigan Grad have in common?
A: They both end up in trailer parks. |
Q: How do you get a Michigan grad off of your front porch?
A: Pay him for the pizza. |
I think the reincarnation one may be the funniest I've read yet.
I have a college football computer simulator program that I've played for the past 15+ years and I got online today and saw that a buddy of mine has many of the '06 teams created so I thought I'd run a few games and see what could happen in the Horseshoe this weekend. I only had it run 10 games so it's a pretty small sample. In the Michigan wins the scores were: 13-10 (OT), 19-14, 20-14 and 10-3 Ohio St. won games by these scores: 16-15, 24-7, 19-18, 12-10, 31-19 and 15-0 Not a whole lot to choose between there folks. It appears as if neither team will be able to run the ball (Michigan had 135 rush yds. in one game but that was the highest either team got). As with most any matchup of relatively evenly matched teams it will probably come down to who makes the fewest mistakes. Amazing grasp of the obvious I've got there huh? Looks like the computer thinks this one will be too close to call....... BTW, it says my Hawkeyes will pound Minnesota to keep the pig but I don't know if I'm buying it with the way both teams have played the last couple of weeks. |
This isn't a joke, but all this week I've seen ad's for blue and yellow lettered t-shirts on sale. The owner of the store MUST be an OSU grad, I've deduced this because the spelling is incorrect.
Muck Fichigan!! |
Countdown to Kickoff:
1day 7hours 11mins 27secs GO BLUE!!! |
Q: How many Buckeyes does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: 100,000. One to shoot out the old lightbulb with a rifle and 99,999 to cheer and shout, "Michigan suuuuuuuuuuuccks!" |
Since I'm not certain if I'll get online in the morning I thought I'd go ahead and make a pick on the big game this morning. First things first I'm hoping that both team's cheerleaders get into the Pixies spirt and honor osuche by wearing thongs and lacy bras that sport their team colors. No sweaters and skirts, just the thongs and bras. :D
Lost my train of thought there for a moment, sorry bout that. :faint: These two teams really are evenly matched. About the only real advantage I see is that Ohio State has the home field advantage. I'm pretty sure this one will turn on either a big special teams play or a turnover that leads to a short field (or TD) for the other team. I'm not looking for a lot of points to be put on the board. (Then again, I probably won't look at the scoreboard at all if the cheerleaders dress as I am hoping.) Damn, this is tough. I guess I'll pick the home team to win a squeaker: Michigan 15 Ohio State 17 I could honestly go either way with my pick but I'm hoping that if Ohio State does pull out the win that osuche will honor us with a picture of her wearing a scarlet thong with a lacy gray bra. :wish: |
Quote:
IowaMan, Seems fair to me. :D |
Quote:
I can't believe that I'm going to say this, but........ I'd "suffer" thru a year of osuche being able to comment on OSU's victory over UM if she gives us a prize such as that!! |
Quote:
I think I'll take those comments as two votes for the Buckeyes. :D Which is great, because we need all the good vibes we can get -- I want to win this game tomorrow! If we're all right, and the Buckeyes do win....I'll fulfull that request. Mr Osuche will be out of town Tuesday/Wednesday so I'll have alittle "private time" to see it through. :) GO BUCKS! |
PS Guys - thanks for the compliments :)
