I'll echo everyone elses wishes for a smooth uneventful delivery - which is impossible because every delivery is an event. There is nothing quite as wonderful as a newborn.
|
Lizz - The breathing is definitely easier now, but the heartburn still plagues me (hence writing this at 5 in the morning when I should be asleep!) I really am looking forward to being the only person in my body again!
wyndhy - You're so right! I bought milk on Monday with a use-by date a couple of days after my due date. Was very strange. dicksbro and Lil - I'm hoping to keep his mind pure for at least the first year or two, but with us as parents chances are slim! thrushbeard - I'm starting to be of the 'I don't care how you get here, just get here' train of thought. As long as he ends up safe and sound, I'm not bothered about how easy or rough it is on me. |
(((((Lou))))))) and ((((((((Loula-Baby))))))))))
Heck.... (((((((((Fussy)))))))))) |
((((Lou and Fussy)))))
The day is almost here! I have no doubts you'll be excellent parents. Here's to an easy delivery! :wine: |
Less than a week until due date now! We've got a trip to the midwife's in the morning - then hopefully the next time we see her, she'll be visiting us at home and will be prodding and poking junior, not me!

WoW Lou I wish that we had stuff like that here!! We do have nappy cakes but nothing as lovely as those |
Lou I am not sure if this has come up yet or not but do you know the sex of your baby? Have you picked out any names?
|
mummy2be2007 - We're having a boy, as far as the scans have indicated and after much discussion about names, I think we're pretty much set on Myles William, which, I have to confess, is my choice. We also quite like Simon, but both of us hate it when it gets shortened to 'Si' which kind of puts us off.
I had quite strong Braxton Hicks last night, and was hoping I'd wake up in the middle of the night in labour, but in fact I just woke up with heartburn as usual. :( |
I really like the name Myles.
Well you will be in labor soon. I bet you must of got so excited though |
MISSION CONTROL ... we're in the advanced countdown phase. Everything is A-OK!
(Thinking of you, Lou!) |
LOL - I'm getting phonecalls from my Mum every morning and evening asking if there's 'anything to report'!
She keeps apologising for it, but she's so excited she just can't help herself. For me, it's nice to feel so special, as I know as soon as baby arrives, Fussy and I will not be the centre of attention! |

WE both felt the same about "Michael" becoming "Mickey" even though we had no problem with "Mike". We were serious and insistent for the first year, then again when he started school and having outside friends. It became something that he nor anyone else identified him with and never was used. (Although his sister gave him a couple nicknames that has stuck somewhat and used in in the family. ;) ) |
Best of luck to the 3 of you, Lou! Be sure Fussy posts a pic of Myles in your arms!!!!
Like with the first 5 minutes..... no we aren't impatient!!! :D |
how ya feeling today?
|
Hi Lou & Fussy
Wishing you well as you creep closer to 'the big event' |
How exciting!
|
You're down to counting scheduled hours now. Less than 100 to go ;)
Hurry up with this already! We want to see the next Pixie boy. :) ;) |

Loulabelle, She knows how important this is! :) |
Well yesterday I had a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions and I awoke this morning with period type pain, that hasn't gone away, so who knows, this may be the start of something. I bloody hope so.
|
/me gives Lou an extra massive hug to help with the popping :D
|
Loulabelle,
We are all pulling for you... both of you! |
Thanks Belial and jseal. I really am hoping that this dull ache is going to be the start of it, but I'm worried it's just wishful thinking! It's very odd, but I don't really want to do anything to ease the pain, in case it eases off completely. Then I'll know I'm not in early stages of labour! LOL
|
(((Lou))) concentrate on opening. As each contraction ends your body has a chance to relax, use those moments. Breathe through them and picture your baby.
When these first signs start it's a great time to walk. ((FussyPuckers)) Love & luck Lou. |
OH OH!
Something's happening. I DON'T dream and I woke up knowing I dreamt about talking to Fussy as he was giving us (I don't know who the "us" was) the detailed report for mother and baby. :wobbly: |
Well?
|
I hope everything goes well!!!!!!!! ((((((((((Loulabelle & Fussy & baby)))))))))))
|
Well, been feeling strange all day, but nothing seems to have progressed. I guess I'm getting excited over nothing....*sigh*.....I'll just have to be patient, I suppose.
|
Strange comes first. I felt really odd, sort of off, all day and woke up to my water breaking. Don't forget there is a chemical in sperm that helps with progressing labor. I was 2 weeks late and the nurse practioner prescribed lots of sex.
|
How's the baby acting?
|
Oh yay, that's a good sign, then Lil. Instinct tells me something's going on with my body, but my instinct may well be clouded by wishful thinking, as I said before.
The midwife prescribed lots of sex to us last Thursday. We had a good giggle about it, and said that if baby arrives this week, she'll know why! |

Funny you should mention that, I've been feeling REALLY strong and frequent kicking sensations on one side of my ribs that's actually kind of painful. It feels kind of twitchy and I'm not entirely sure if it's definitely baby or whether it's sort of localised muscle spasms as the area goes very hard and seems to last longer than the usual kicking sensations. |
Loulabelle,
At the onset of the labo(u)r of our first, the missus described her feeling in the very early morning as "this weird 'cupping' sensation". Being the decent, caring husband that I am, I suggested that she ignore it, and go back to sleep - which she couldn't do (but I could)- and 15 hours later, I was a daddy. :) |

Huh...I didn't know that! And all the time I've been wasting this precious, labor-inducing substance by blopping it up in tissues during solo sessions, thinking it was nothing but protein-enriched gunk when I should be making vital, viscous, glutinous contributions to chemical science technologies! |
Quote:
LOL ^^^^ ! Sorry Lou I can't help here, I was induced which still took an extra day so I did'nt really go into labor natrually. Walking is good, sex is good if it's comfortable for you or at least have an orgasm, plan something to do and at the last minute you'll have to cancle cause he'll figure it out. :D |
jseal - that sounds like about what I've had from Fussy - I think he's just in denial!
Irezumi Kiss - yep, you got it. The chemical is called prostaglandin and it's used in the gel they use to induce women. sodaklostsoul - we have a new carpet being fitted on Tuesday and again on Friday, plus the plumber is due sometime this week and a friend has invited out for dinner on Friday night, so there's plenty planned this week to make sure it happens with maximum inconvenience! |
I only want to see that
"Gotta go now! .............................................. :car: " post from you, Lou. |
I had a big wedding to attend. They called me repeatedly from the reception to see if most honorable sone #1 had made his appearance yet.
|
Well, it's 3am, I can't sleep for the acid heartburn and I've just puked but I'm still not feeling regular contractions so it looks like nothing's going to be happening for tonight at least. I'm so impatient!
|
Try your best to sleep. You'll need it for later.
|
It's become a ritual that at least once a night I'm woken by heartburn, have to keep myself upright until it has subsided and then go back to bed. Tonight I got back into bed far too quickly which is probably why I was ill. The irony is, now I have an empty stomach I will probably sleep much better....
night night for now. x |
