Ok wonderful friends,
The USCIS has recieved all our documents and they are now sitting in a room somewhere....the quoted wait time is 90-120 days BUT according to our lawyers the average wait currently stands at 60 days. All good fun, Once they have said yes it is then my turn to jump through all the hoops here.. medical, visit to the embassy in london, plane tickets, cat transport etc. Totally worth it though. At the time of writing we stand at day 8 Its getting closer |

It's a long process, but getting closer, and the wait is worth it! :)

Mayhem...where they asked about organizations you are affiliated with, I hope you remembered to put: "Pixies MEMBER in good STANDING". That should help to make your application RISE to the top of the stack.

Update June 1st 2006
Ok so i got an e-mail from USCIS today saying that they have transferred our case from one office to another.. We are not sure yet why this is but looking on another forum to do with it a lot of people have had the same issue.
I am waiting on a reply from my lawyer to see if they know whats going on... all is still moving though |
Did the other forum mention how long it took after being transfered?
/me waits with pen in hand so I can mark the calendar for Mayhem's arrival. (Better yet, for the wedding of Lizz and Mayhem!!!!) :D |
Sadly no, we are not even sure why it was transferred. I have sent an e-mail to our lawyer asking them to find out whats going on. As soon as i find anything out i will be posting :D

You have to submit Form T-92847713973-a, (in quad triplicate, notarized by a witch doctor from Haiti, before two heads of Parliament, with the seal of the Vatican) within 30 days of the first high tide before the last Tuesday in spring, requesting Form T-92847713973-b that will provide you with the proper request for case location from the 2nd clerk in the Department of FUGOWE. :cool:

Today I got the second official notice that our case was transferred. It feels like it is on the same kind of paper that $$ USD are made out of, complete with watermarks "Department of Homeland Security" and green tinted paper.
as of today we are on day 52 of a projected 90-120 day wait..... time marches on...... HOWEVER!!!! Tickets are now booked and confirmed for a month visit over in the UK :D I am so Flippin excited!!! I get to see my love on the 27th of July :D:D:D |

Update June 30th 2006
Ah all is getting better finally..
All petitions like ours had been held up due to a new act called IMBRA. International Marrage Brokers Regulation Act. Basically its there to protect ppl but it means that everything got held up while they argue about what the form should look like. Yesterday (June 29th) our lawyers recieved a request for evidence from USCIS. About 10,000 people are getting these to comply with the new law. Bacically Lizz has to tick a box saying we didnt meat through an online dating service and sign and return. Hopefully once they get it we will be processed very quickly. Oh and btw SHES GONNA VISIT ME YAY |

Basically they have been having a rash of "mail order brides" come into the US, get married and then file for divorce on the grounds of abuse and this law is to protect them. All marrage brokers have to be registered with the USCIS, if they aint....no visa |

WE GOT APPROVED yay yay yay yay **Does the happy dance** We got back from playing tourist to the following e-mail Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) Current Status: This case has been approved. On August 18, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours. There is more to the message but its just the usual dont reply etc..... Now things move quicker for us all and the ball is back into my court. Medical and Interview at London are next in line... Here we go.. |

Update for 7th Sept 2006
Well....
Yet another step has been taken. Our case has been recieved by the National Visa Centre. This is the final step before it hits UK soil. This is really good things are speeding up. On a side note 4 years ago on 7th Sept 2002 i was married for the first time. I have always hated that date but now its a reason to celebrate :line: |
