Age makes no difference if the chemistry is there............

My Mum is 15 years younger than my Dad and they are happy.

KingMinotaur 10-29-2002 06:55 PM

biggest age difference here wa when I was about 23 and was with the 35 yr old.. or was it when I was 24ish with the 40 something.. lol age is just a number ; it's all in your head . You're only as old as you feel ..

kleclere 10-29-2002 07:59 PM

My oldest was only 3 years older, current is same age. Now comes the down side, I had two of my grandmothers who were more than 15 years the junior. And when my grandfathers died they had better then 20 yrs alone in their old age. My grandma told me that the age difference doesn't matter when you are young but after their S/O was gone it matters alot. Sorry for the downer. Please forgive.

Ok, you will probably all think I'm nutso for asking this, but oh well, here goes...

Does anyone believe in destiny? The reason I ask is because on both sides of my family, the last 4 generations of women have all married younger men. While I'm not actively searching for a younger guy, that's all I've dated, with the exception of one. I don't know how big of an age difference I would be comfortable with (probably 3 years at most), but maybe that will change as I grow older, like some of you said. I just wonder if history is going to repeat itself with me...it's kind of strange to think about for me!

first question - I'd prefer it if they were around the same age as me.....I just couldn't date someone as old as my mother.

second question - Well....I'd never failed any subject in my whole life and last year I did. That caused me to stick around my current place of residence. Then I found pixies and became a member. Some months later, I pm'ed a nother member just to say hi......and now, I've with the girl of my dreams. You have to feel a little like something was keeping an eye on things...

If I didn't believe in destiny and fate I'd go mad.

Things do happen for a reason but that does not mean we don't have to take responsibility for our lives.

I truly believe everything happens for a reason. I also believe that there is no such thing as a age difference. I have been out with 18 years old that act 40 and 40 year olds that act 18. It is all in the personality why let something as little as age stop you from finding that special someone. When we start putting limits on ourselves is when we stop trying. Live life to the fullest.

I have dated both ways older and younger.......there are definitely situations that can occur with either but on a whole, if the personalities mesh, and both are heading in the same general directions, accomodations can always be made to alleviate any problems that age could be a factor in.

Sugarsprinkles 10-30-2002 08:56 AM

I believe that the younger you are the more the age difference matters. My very first serious relationship, I was 16, he was 21 and egaged and later married. He seemed so very grown up and mature to me at the time.
After that I don't think I dated anyone much more than 2 or 3 years older than myself, and NEVER anyone younger. My husband is exactly, almost to the day, older than I.
But Murphy is almost exactly 10 younger than I am. At first I really wasn't sure, thinking it might be a problem. But it really hasn't. Rather than making me feel older, it's done just the opposite. :)

My SO is 8 years younger then I am, I have always preferd younger women, I guess that because I am inmature myself

I know where CK;is coming from.A gorgeous woman;where I used
to work;used to blow me;almost every morning;before work!I met
her husband once and besides my nasty side coming out(thinking
that he was blowing me;by proxy)I actually felt sorry for him.
Wife---4 1/2mo. older then me!
Her 2 sisters---Older then their husbands!
Our 2 daughters---Older then their husbands!
My parents---Mother older then Father!
Wifes parents---Mother older then Father!
Most of our friends&relatives---Wife older then husband!
ETC. Notice a pattern here?
I still believe that age makes no difference! It's the person and your relationship;that matters! Irish

I won't tell you the largest age gap ;) But I'm 20, and I've had sexual friends as old as late 60's. Not boyfriends, just fuck buddies.

Age is not important.
