He has not earned my respect and simply sitting in position does not entitle him to it. While I respect you and your rights to a conservative view. I too have every right to mention my happiness at his leaving office.

I did not shave. I love Obama but he's not worth all that itch :p

flywater,

Ever feel like a stranger in a strange land? Sometimes I have felt like a character in that famously unpublished book by Dr. Seuss: “You’re Different, and that’s Bad.”

If someone can get me the address to which I can mail my clippings, I'll gladly "tidy up" and mail the remnants to Georgie Boy. :p

I applaud President Obama and wish him all the best, but, as I said, can we be a bit respectful?

This is absolutely a place where respect for others is held in high regard.

Many of us here live in a great place that affords us the freedom to criticize our elected officials when we feel they have acted poorly.

Lilith has summed up my feelings on this perfectly.

I love that woman...

:o Did I say that out loud? :o

Amen to all of the above. So glad he's gone--not a moment too soon, either. I prefer to stay fuzzy. I remember being 13 years old and keeping vigil for signs of the first hairs there; why would I shave 'em off now??? :brows:

I assume you are referring to President Obama's order to close Gitmo.

There is no order to let terrorists go, just to close a base where atrocities have been committed that have helped cast the USA in a very negative way.

jseal 01-23-2009 08:20 PM

Patience, gentlemen, patience. Let us wait and see how this plays out.

PantyFanatic 01-23-2009 08:43 PM

Patience is NOT meant to replace due process! Prove them guilty in a sanctioned judicial court and stand their ass in front of a firing squad. If they can not be proved as terrorists, cut them lose and try the people that incarcerated them without due process in violation of the US Constitution and international law.

jseal 01-23-2009 09:08 PM

Any chance of identifying and sharing with the unenlightened the violated portion of the Constitution which seems to have escaped the Federal Judiciary?
