I watched the NGO channel's show on the buiiding of the "BIRDNEST" Olympic Stadium in Beijing. Very interesting. Pacifica radio{KPFK} this morning, stated that the 2008 Olympic games will cost more than the previous 5 games together. Some of the leading corporate sponsors are; Coca Cola,MacDonalds, and of course the official candy is a Snickers bar. Go figure. All in all,I enjoy watching the competitions, if only I can find them televised at reasonable hours.

Might I suggest TIVO? Or even the low tech, VCR and a blank tape? I know, a kid that actually remembers VCR's. Scared yet?

I love the Olympics. I'm really looking forward to swimming this year just to see Torres race.

Actually here in this area. China town is shutting down and putting up screens so people can watch opening ceremonies.. We are taking my daughter as she was adopted from china

not really excited i guess it's the time difference (again). Is baseball a medal sport or exhibition this year ? That's the only thing I'd watch plus we're running into exhibition football (American)

OMG! :faint:

If you are watching the opening ceremonies, ....................... China!

Regardless of anything ..........past, ..........present, ........ it IS the future.

They can do ANYTHING they want done.

Unfortunately PF is correct.

We are looking at the masters of the next generation.

PantyFanatic 08-08-2008 11:07 PM

With the ceremonies over, ........ I can't retract my thought. :(

The awakened giant is standing.

The opening ceremony was *IMPRESSIVE*.

How many times have you heard me use the word "impressive"?

Lord Snow 08-09-2008 07:24 PM

I will grant you that what I saw of it (which wasn't much) did look quite spectacular.

That speaks volumes.

I'd say they were pretty cool.

The same way I'd say the Apollo 11 mission was kinda neat. ;)

I stayed up to watch the boys 4x100 relay last night. Fab!

Fangtasia 08-11-2008 10:55 PM

Equestrian events are really my thing, could watch it all day. I have enjoyed the swimming...GO AUSSIE GO *L*

Now if i had the time off work so i could actually catch any of the stuff i like it would be brilliant, but i'm only managing to catch dribs and drabs :(

PantyFanatic 08-11-2008 11:57 PM

Can you say "VCR"? :D

Fangtasia 08-12-2008 04:36 AM

Which would work well if i knew EXACTLY when said things would be on *LOL*
