According to the "Technical explanations of the revenue provisions of 5140", http://www.house.gov/jct/x-16-08.pdf

"Net income tax liability as determined for these purposes is not reduced by the credit added by this provision or any credit which is refundable under present law"

So, if the tax liability isn't actually reduced by this 'stimulus package', then where is the money that is to be distributed to the taxpayers to come from?

I should get $900.........it will help with both trips to SD and the trip to Nashville. (I hope)

wyndhy 03-27-2008 02:22 PM

i see what you're saying now, gg. i thought you meant that next year's tax refund would just be less whatever amout your rebate from 2008 was. of course the tax payers will end up paying for this $ in many forms, and likely many times over, down the road.

Well, according to the test Lil posted the link to in the sex section, I am worth over a thousand bucks an hour to sleep with so.............. I think I'll sign the check over to myself and then masturbate for about 20 minutes.

Problem(s) with the so-called stimulace is first the Texas twit endorses it and that ought to be the first clue its too little too late--name one success the Village Idiot has achieved (with regards to non-corperation). Second, $600+ considering inflation and just how little that buys about 6 full tanks of gas if one has a SUV. Third it comes late in the second quarter of the year and any inpact will not be felt (if any) till mid-third quarter. And fourth, as mentioned earlier too many people will have to spend it on neccessities.

So after much to do about nothing Congress and hopefully a new President will have to re-approach a new stimulace bill, send the billions needs that they ought to have done like expand unemployement benefits, food stamps, and public work projects.

Kinda sad that this country is stuck on stupid

same Washington, same Congress, same ol' bullsh*t, nothing gets changed
