There are some lucky people today. :nana: I'm back. :D
(the people that believe they are the lucky ones are those that I left today. ) Thank you all for the well wishes. I went with optimistic trepidation and am back with a feeling of comfort for my mom and myself. We DID spend most all of my visit in a kind of 'quality time' that I am digesting and probably will for a while. I want to share some of these insights with other important people in my life that she heard a bit about and will do so as some of these formulate for me. Right now I see I have a few PM's and about six pages of new posts to catch up on. The number of times I wanted internet access this past week, to reference something, was frustrating, but the number of times my mind missed Pixies told me I need to look up the "Pixies withdrawal" thread right away. ;) I'm happy to be back with my other family. |

We aren't counting by years now
We skipped the months and started counting by days or hours this past week. The other night I got a call that my Mom was taken to the hospital. That day the doctors statement was that her congestive heart condition will most likely take her within the next few weeks. She has fluid on her lungs which is what sent her to the hospital in early October. The night before last her blood sugar spiked at 500 before she was given insulin that dipped it to 24. Her systolic pressure dropped below her diastolic reading and my sister said she was drifting in and out of a coma state and incoherent yesterday morning. Buy last night, she had stabilized and was able to laugh and joke. The last call I had within the hour said she had a good night but had a rapid heart beat and that she has asked for her sky pilot to visit.
It's like standing in the door for your first jump. No amount of preparation prepares you. |
