Jude30, that's too funny!!!!!!! I'd get one for Booger but not sure what kind of message it sends kiddo.

Jude30 12-03-2006 10:23 PM

They have it in black too.

PantyFanatic 12-03-2006 11:03 PM

:rolleyes2
With the added cost of some super accessory, would it have been better to have spent it on paying for a delivery and still have the surprise?

Why do I think our Lil is one of those that just can't wait to give the presents out? lmao :D

Oldfart 12-03-2006 11:14 PM

Would the knife-block be so funny if it were a female form?

LixyChick 12-04-2006 05:53 AM

wyndhy? "Booby Flay?" Is that his porn name? LMFAO!

Mr. Lixy has this spatula that has a tong on the opposing side to hold stuff while you flip it. We call it the "tongula". I actually got that from a dollar store round here and it's been going strong for 3 seasons.

He also cannot live without the fork that tells him if it's rare, medium rare, medium, medium well and well done. He had another that only told the internal temperature but after a few beers/glasses of wine/mixed drinks who can figure whats proper? There are many brand names and models. Make sure you get the one that can be washed in the diswasher. The fork part comes off leaving the battery pack/thermostat and you can wash the fork in the washer.

Oh...and if you can swing it Lil, get him another tank. Mr. Lixy always keeps one in the wings for those times when the main one runs out in the middle of cooking. I suggested this so I didn't have to tote everything inside to finish it.

BTW Lil, don't feel so bad about ruining the surprise. Seems every damn year, just before X-Mas, Mr. Lixy NEEDS to get "something" and it can't wait till after the holiday. Now, I've paid attention through the year and have already purchased and wrapped said "something", but he is determined! So...I end up giving him one or two pressie's before the big day just to stop him from doubling up. I hate when he does that...but it never fails...he always does that!

A case of his favorite brew kept in one of those small camping type refrigerators right by the grill might be a nice addition.

Mr Lil's not big on brew, but the basic idea's got merit.

WildIrish 12-04-2006 09:23 AM

I've never used the "spatula/tong" doohickey but love the idea of it.

What I've found very handy, though, was this.

Pure genius!

Jeeping loves his pampered chef grilling kit that i got him for daddys day, it has EVERYTHING (no thermomator tho) from flippers to kebabs to forks and its all fraking huge so it keeps his hands away from the heat, and its in a nice neat case to keep it all togather,

Lixy's idea about a backup gas tank is ideal...those &#%*ers always seem to run out at the wrong time...& definately a long-handled spatula with little cutouts on the side so he can pry the burgers of the grill without tearing them up too much...& a grill cleaning brush, my fav is the one with brass bristles on one side & a "scrubbie" pad on the other (because there's always a lot of food left on the grill that never makes it to the table)...

only if there was a knife imbedded where her mouth would be. :D

how about if it resembled a crucifixion?

I purchased a removable strip that attaches to the side of a propane tank. I shows the level of propane left in the tank. I gave this to my parents for there RV and they love it.

Lilith 12-04-2006 08:26 PM

He has an extra tank. We really grill 3 times a week at least. I will hunt a tongula :p I just want to go ask for one :D

LixyChick 12-05-2006 06:01 AM

They'll look at you with the expression of the RCA dog Lil. We had never seen one and when I brought it home I called it a thingy for a while. After a while it got dubbed "the tongula" to be more specific.

And don't forget that thermometer fork! It's really accurate if you like your meats a specific doneness.

Also...Mr. Lixy found a web site for a BBQ sauce that is outta this world! It's www.ilovestubbs.com and we found some in our local grocers as well. That Mr. Stubbs knows his shit when it comes to BBQ sauce! He also makes a yummy marinade.

A little wine or a favorite soft drink would work, too. :)
