Sounds like you have an awesome daughter!

We've met their daughter and she is very awsome. It was nice of her to keep my daughter of 2 years younger entertained.

LOL... I do know how you feel on that topic! We have the 'reach for the sky & squat rule'. when trying on shirts, if when she reaches for the sky, her belly shows = the answer is no way. If when she squats, when trying on a pair of jeans and I can see her panties or butt crack, the answer is no. I won't buy them. and that is final. She can argue all she wants the answer is still no.

Other than that, I guess I pick my battles. Compare tight clothes (other than my rules above) to smoking, sex, and drinking - I don't care if she wears her clothes tight as long as they don't violate my sky & squat rules. If I don't make a big deal about them, she eventually doesn't wear them because in reality - they truly aren't comfortable... lol

Makeup - she wants to cake it on... but it is really difficult to get all that eyeliner and mascara off without makeup remover... hahaha - have I bought her that stuff? No.. and there is a method to my madness - she learned that she shouldn't cake the stuff on her face because it is damn hard to get it all off.. Also - the lighting in our bathroom isn't complimentary to 'clown makeup' and zits because of makeup that doesn't get washed off correctly is worse than the idea of going without makeup... problem solved.

I guess my advice is don't sweat the small stuff - because compared to other things kids their age have to deal with, tight clothes really aren't that terrible.

That was fun Soda! She didn't just keep kiddo entertained - she did have a good time with her.. :D

Thanks everyone... I guess I was struck with a 'pride' moment and wanted to share. I am sure that as we progress through the teen years there will be times that she will make poor choices, but for now - I am glad that she is showing promise!

Loulabelle 11-09-2006 03:48 AM

She's fab Chey.

I have no doubt that if I ever have a daughter I will want her to be like that.

Now, any tips on raising a son who'll go for a girl like her, rather than like the ones she's parodying?!
