I guess I should add that I have NEVER subscribed to the idea that properly fitted eyewear detracts from the attractiveness of a woman...& as evidence I offer Mrs Zoid, who has been wearing glasses since 4th grade, & whom I have made regular passes at for well over 3 decades now...

Ms Parker probably was very insecure, her love life was reportedly turbulant, & she did attempt suicide more than once...

Perhaps many women feel unattractive when wearing glasses or wear them when they're busy studying for a final or whatever and might unintentionally makes themselves appear less aproachable.
