He is the only Pope to serve durring my lifetime so far, so I can't compare his reign to anyone else's. He did a lot of good but at the same time turned his head when events happened on his watch that made the church look very bad. This is why I call myself a recovering Catholic, I hope his replacement will be somone I can agree with more and not be so hypocrytical.

He will be greatly missed by everyone. I think i will forever remember him as THE pope. He truly was a great man, he served his people well. Rest in Peace Pope.

He was such a strong leader in many ways, & where he may have failed in other areas may well be because he was so powerful he weakened the bishops' powers to tend to the day-to-day operations...in any case, his strength & grace will be hard to replace...
