The Washington contingent checks in...
Kids in my school were Pantsed. Shucked is something you did to corn. Shanked? I dunno about that one. |

Isnt' shanked what happens when you are stabbed in prison??? We always called it being depantsed... (Not that I ever did the depantsing.. lol) |
I don't recall this being an occurrence in my HS. But I have heard the term pants-ed before (WI and TX)...
... And I'm with Aqua on this one, shuck is what you do to corn |
LOL I had never even heard "pants-ed" before this. Interesting.

De-pantsed is the only thing that comes to mind here in South Dakota. I just can't remember that far back. Don't think it ever happened in school.
|
Here I TN I don't recall having a name for it, I picked up "shanked" after I was grown, er, ah, an adult, uhhh...aw, hell, after I wasn't legally a minor anymore...
..but I'm pleased that we're finally getting a discussion going on the really important issues of the day...this has been swept under the carpet long enough... |

That is what my boyfriend said! LOL! I'm not sure why Shanked applies for both terms!! I am so thankful for everyone's imput! I have learned that Pantsed is the official term That Shank is more common And that Shucked is native to TN!! All of my friends from HS in VA said Shank And all of his friends in TN said Shuck!! This is really fascinating! Thank you all on this very important matter! |
Aqua
When corn is shucked (not a common Oz practice) don't you slide the husk down the head? Shanked sounds as if may be a very old term, as the lower leg is the shank, and dragging the trousers down to the shanks . . . Sharni, must have been a Vic term as well as NSW. |
