Teddy Bear 11-21-2004 07:49 PM

Our weather has been on a roller coaster........ we had apx 5" of snow on the 14th!! It only lasted a few days cause on the 18th we had temp of 58f and everything melted.

PF -- LOL!! I guess thats why my ancestors have remained New Englanders for the most part.

My family will be going to my sister-in-laws, about a 2 hour drive. Probably be 14 people there. She has the turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. Everybody brings something...... Mom-in-law always brings a jello mold and rolls, I'm bringing creamed onions and turnip. I've been craving a chocolate cream pie lately and so may bring that to.

What ever you do, where ever you are.... Have a Happy & Safe Thanksgiving!!!

Rub it in why don't ya! :p It's been raining here for 2 solid weeks. :(

We got 34F right now and no clue what will really happen on Thanksgiving. I gave up trusting the weather peeps.

I know a guy who would wrap the bird w/stuffing inside in tin foil and put it in the BBQ outside for our 4th of July campouts. 3-4 hours I think it took, but don't quote me on that.

salad and fruit and sliced turkey sandwiches, this way you at least still get the triptophan (sp???) sleepy buzz. :D i hate cooking with the oven in the heat. if you can't indirect grill it how about a hole in your lawn, do it like a pig roast sans the gross looking apple stuffed in it's itty-bitty beak. :D actually sans the whole frikking head i guess.

I'm in the same boat as you Lilith. I will be running my air that day too.

imaginewithme 11-21-2004 11:15 PM

yep Lilith it was 82 degrees here today.....and on the phone to a friend in WA where it was in the 30's just seemed unreal, but more holidayish.

Cheyanne 11-21-2004 11:41 PM

On Turkey Day the high temp is going to be 35 after a low of 17 overnight...

I like to cook the Turkey in a 225 degree oven overnight...that way the house smells soooooooo good when we wake up in the morning. We usually eat around 1:00 and the Turkey is soooooo moist and tender by then.

WildIrish 11-22-2004 10:50 AM

After much deliberation, we've decided to stay home and cook for ourselves this holiday instead of dragging the kids to Boston for a gathering with the relatives. We'd just end up overeating, drinking too much and getting into an arguement over a football game and having to settle it outside...playing street football. And I'm getting too old for that crap.

So I'll overeat at home instead. :D

Now they are calling for 2" of snow,

Over the hills and threw the snow ....

imaginewithme 11-27-2004 02:33 AM

It ended up being 40 degrees here yesterday and cool again tonight. Felt like holiday time!

Cheyanne 11-27-2004 12:00 PM

It was cool and cloudy yesterday...perfect weather for a family gathering - lit the fireplace and we all could eat in the kitchen without overheating outselves. It started raining last night and this morning we woke up with about an inch of snow!!!

Thinking about getting the Christmas stuff out!! :D
