I used to live in a city that had a restaurant named "the Italian Place" ... they did a steak and everything sandwich that I still crave and its been at least 10 years since I last had one .... steak cooked then shredded and then heated with fresh mushrooms, peppers, tomoatoes, and served on a white roll with provolone cheese ... there was something about the juices in that sandwich that just did me in!!!

When I was traveling both Europe and South America I missed Peanut butter and honey.

In the US I can not find Nutella. Nutella and banana's or apples is so good.

After studying in Quebec City I missed Pouten - french fries, curd cheese and beef gravey.

I love fresh fruit, and after tasting a fresh orange, or pineapple, or banana, (sweet and juicy) the same fruit I get here is bland.

What do I wish the English would learn to love? American pickles. No kidding. Good ole cheap dill pickles. Can't get 'em.

You can get them here in the UK you've just got to look for them. Some of the local Fish and Chip shops near me sell them for 20 pence each with fish and chips. I have to say I would miss fish and chips - a nice peice of fried cod in battwer with nice big crisp chunky chips with loads of salt and vinegar.

But then I guess my biggest loss would be Indian curry from the take away down the road, I just couldn't do without it. Then I guess it would be real chocolate - went oevr to the US a couple of years ago for a couple of weeks and couldn't find any decent chocolate all we could get was Hershies and it tasted of vomit YUK.

I do miss Indian food! It is my absolute favorite and I have yet to find an Indian restaurant in this neck of the woods. I'm ready to hop in my car and drive the 3 hours to my old favorite place! Just last night we were out to eat and had this wonderful chicken and white bean chilli served w/ warm pita. It reminded me of nan bread and the chilli tasted a bit like tandori and Indian spices. Oh my it was fantastic. So this craving has now intensified, I think I'm going to have to do something about it.

pizza!

I would intensely miss Dairy Queen soft serve ice cream....no other is quite like it.

When I lived in Brussels, I got addicted to the moules and pommes frites...not as fresh or good anywhere I have tried them in the states. Same with escargot... <sigh>

Fresh oranges straight off my trees!

Del's frozen lemonade...they make it in my home state and they don't sell it anywhere else in the US that I know of. I really miss that stuff during the hot summer days here in Mississippi
