coming clean
OK I was kidding...
|
Um......ok south! Little too much time on your hands hun???? LOL!
P.S. Hubby used to be a diesal mechanic.....so I know we have "Gunk" around somewhere! |
after being on the site time isn't the only thing I have on my hands...lol
|
LOL@south again!
Do tell........In Detail! |
And again.......I want to thank everyone for your help and um....input! LOL!
I got the grill warm again.....wet some paper towels.....unplugged it...set the towels inside...and let it steam. After which I put it on the ledge of the sink and with more wet towels and some soap...I cleaned all the gunk off. Then, I got more towels and rinsed it and a few more towels and dried it.....and voila! Clean as a whistle (whatever that means)! I'm gonna go invest in some stock in Bounty or Scott paper towels now! LMFAO! |
Lixy one more hint for you one of the best way of disinfecting things is heat.
|
Ahhhhhhhh.....TY sweety! Good point!
|
Hell I just treat mine like I do a gas grill. When I cook on it I let it stand till the next time (which is usually the next night) and then I plug it in, let it get hot and saturate a paper towel. I keep the towel dripping wet and make several passes over the heated surfaces letting the water and gunk drain into the little catch pan. Let it dry and then cook. I haven't had any problems with this method but I'm sure some wouldn't think it sanitary.... but then as Booger said heat disinfects best.
|
I had bits of the "last supper" on mine at this particular time (when I thought to ask this question) Bear.....and when I plugged it in it smoked a bit before "burning it off" and I thought....ewwwwww.....if that don't make me sick, nothing is gonna! LOL!
So...that's the reason I started this thread......cause with each cook session there would be more and more to clean off that I couldn't seem to get off! It's clean as can be now though! Looks brand new as a matter of fact! |
(cajun) Hot & spicy. Will blow your face off.
|
Ironically Catch22.....I just saw a test on taste buds yesterday and there are some folks who can tolerate hot & spicy much better than others.
Here's what I learned.......The human tongue is made up of tiny bumps (and don't ask me to spell the name of those bumps cause I'd pee my pants trying) and in spite of what we once thought about a zone for certain tastes....it's not true. All buds can taste all flavors. It's just that some tongues have more buds in certain spots and possibly less in other areas of the tongue and so the part with the most buds gets the best flavor. Gawd....that sucked as an explaination! Wish I could draw it for you....but here we go at another attempt.... Picture the human tongue as a flat surface with polka dots on it. Some people have more polka dots really, really close together.....and other people have a dot here and a dot there and maybe a small cluster way in the back....or maybe not! Depending on how many "polka dots" one has....and how close together they are......the more you can taste a hot flavor or a bitter flavor. Example: Do you know someone who can bite and chew a jalapena <sp?> or habenero pepper and if you took a bite you would gasp and lose your breath....but they just laugh at you and have another bite? Well......they have less "polka dots" than you do! I figure it this way...........if we are more sensitive to hot and spicy....than we get the best effect from performing oral......and the guy/girl who can eat a hot pepper and laugh at you is surely missing out on more than they know.....so we get the last laugh!!!! *giggle* |
Foreman Grille
FYI, the Foreman Grille should come with a cleaner, it lookd like a paint scraper, but with 3 grooves in the bottom. start at the back, and work your way forward, its easy as cake.
|
Are these things good? Is there less fat?
|
Krazy has got it right!!!......and paper towels with detergent water on them gets the grease and the smaller particles. Open the grille so that the bottom drains into the sink and scrubba dub dub!

I can not eat hot stuff at all. I would rather taste what I am eating or licking! |
