The thread about One-Trick-Pony's new granddaughter made me want to share news of my own. My lil' baby..well not so much a baby now at 10 mos old has started walking! He started about 2 1/2 wks ago and is getting more and more confident every day. He's getting very independent but, still wants his mama when he gets sleepy or hungry!

Very cool! If you can write down in a book the date of the walking, your feelings etc. I wish I had. Those times pass quickly.
Thanks for sharing! :) and Congrats!

speaking of keeping a baby book, someone once gave me a great idea on how to keep a chronicle for your kids: get a calendar and hang it in the babys room. every night, you jot down a little bit about the day.

ShadowDancer, I can't tell you how happy I am for you. These are, and will be, the happiest days of your life. I'm fortunate, in that I will get to relive those times with my granddaughter, albeit from 400 miles away. I plan to put on lots of mileage.
When people tell you that he'll grow up fast, listen. The next thing you will know, you're throwing a graduation party. That's when it hit me. I can't think of anything in my life I'd want to "do over", but those are times I'd like to "do again."
There are frustrations and anxieties, sure. But nothing can beat it. Enjoy it. And thank you for reminding me of it. As you can probably tell, I've done a lot of reflecting lately.
I hope this whole diatribe doesn't come off as too sappy, but I have to say, I do envy you.
PS....I love your signature :D
