I went to my best friend's daughter's first communion today.

I found out that building a bear at the Build A Bear Workshop is a lot more detailed (and expensive) than I had anticipated.

I had a pretty draining weekend but had a lot of fun. Well, from Saturday thru now I had fun, Friday night I'd really like to forget.

Enjoying the afterglow of this past Friday and Saturday's spring cleaning and kitchen appliance upgrading (by way of great sales at the Target down the street from my apartment) binge. It's so good to come home to a cleaned, useless clutter-free apartment.

One more day until I have reached one month without going out, drinking, smoking, general carousing and wenching, etc. My bartender and lounge friends who expect me to show up at the spot like clockwork every Tuesday night must be thinking I'm dead or something.

My Japanese friends who run the show at one good spot I go to often (or USED to go to often) are having half-off all the shochu bottle selections for two weeks starting tomorrow. What a coincidental, low-guilt way to break my month-long booze fasting!

Tonight at the kids baseball practice I got in the batting cage and had my buddy throw me a few pitches. First time in about 15 years I've actually faced live pitching like that. Damn, it felt good. :D

Having a very odd day. Went to get a prescription earlier and on my way home I was sort of drifting off to some music and when I "came to" I didn't recognize where I was at. I've lived in this area for 25 of my 39 years but for about 30 seconds I was legitimately lost and confused. :confused:

Due to a spontaneous malfunction of the edit programme at college today, I left college today after spending 3 hours on a machine with more to do than when I went in.

I went shopping for clothes for my holiday to Portugal in July (woohoo!) and spent £50. This got me: 2 pairs of shoes 2 pairs of shorts, 3 t-shirts, 1 pair of pj's and a skirt. My skirt is brilliant and it cost £1.

2) Bought the new edition of notorious Japanese fetish photographer Nobuyoshi Araki's erotic photobook from Taschen. The original limited edition version of his complete works that came out six or seven years ago was in large format and cost well over a thousand dollars. The new version is better and smaller (but heavy) and goes for $60 retail. It cost me $20 less because of the store credit I planned to use buying it for. He is one of my ideals in the realm of erotica and just having this book makes me feel creative inside. Can't think of a better personal symbol of enjoying the freedoms of this country grants me on Memorial Day.

3) Work was mild today, thank Buddha. And I have tomorrow off, thank Buddha twice.

My iTunes shit on me yet again today after I started it up. I didn't lose any music files, but what it seems to do every two months or so is get corrupted and causing me to reinput my library. Only this time it hadn't happened in so long that I didn't save all my latest additions that I'd been burning for a while, so now my listing is of a previous list from a while back...and now I have to redo my list manually...grrrrr...unless someone knows a way for it to scan its catalog file to update its browser and save me the trouble...

I didn't do any art last night because the pull of the sandman was too strong after dinner, but I did lay down a quick 15-minute base drawing just before coming to work this early afternoon. Baby steps every day possible, baby steps...

Stupid train went schizoid today and couldn't make up its mind if it was going local or express, giving everyone jacked up "next stop is" messages on its display when it was stalling in the stations. I plan on making it to the gym today. Really.

I start a new "side job" on Monday and I have some reading to do.
