I know that we can all be upset by things we see, hear or read.

But does anything shock us anymore?

And if it doesn't, what does that say about us?

We can all be shocked by new things.

Repeat offences take the edge off, turning us blase.

Another million dead in a tribal war in Africa? Shame, pass the tea-cake please.

Yes, the shocks happen, but life goes on...thats why they have us by the balls...

Hmmm, Chanserv started rearing his ugly head in the forums... that was shocking!
Uncle Silky posted something and I understood what he was saying... shocking again!
But by and large, I don't think we are, as a majority, shocked. Outraged or pissed off, sure, but not shocked.

Long time ago, I quit being shocked by what I saw...
now I'm only shocked by where or who I see do something shocking...
Does that make any sense at all? I'm still snow-lagged...

9/11 proved it did.

Nope, I think I'm too cynical to be shocked anymore. 9/11 didn't shock me, quisath.. it just surprised me. 7,000 massacred in Srebrenitza, why is 3,000 in New York so shocking? That one person can kill another is shocking.... but, the shock wears off after a while....

I think I've seen/read/heard of enough to think I'm largely unshockable..... but, I'm sure one day I'll be unpleasantly shocked!

I'm shocked that one can say they can't be shocked anymore!

*gasp*

Jiminy Crickets..........I was shocked to hear Maurice Gibb died of something so similar to what I had to rush hubby to the hospital for on New Years day 2002!

It still shocks me.....that jetliners can fly! I mean.......um......if THEY can.....then why can't elephants? They are smaller by comparison! But in retrospect...........Whew! Good thing they can't! Imagine the poop on all those statues in the parks! That would be shocking!!!!!!!!

I think it really makes a difference how personal things are. I'm shocked every day by things people say, or attitudes people have.

The 9/11 didn't shock me too much cuz it's way over there, but when the neighbors killed their duck cuz they never fed it, that was shocking to me.
