Corvids, the group of birds including crows, magpies and such, are wonderful problem solvers and may be smarter than monkeys and dogs.

Themi01, don't be fooled by the colour of the bird.
Look at the beak of the crow/raven/magpie and you will see a powerful multi-purpose tool. The starling's beak is a slender insectivore bill, able to dig into insect holes etc.

AHH yes I see that now and actually the local Crows are usually bigger birds than Starlings
