Good choice Eliza, but I had to add some things. First off in all states I've ever been in now it is the law to have your child in a rear facing seat until they are a year old AND 20 lbs. Each kid is different. My first used our travel system until she was only 5 months and then it was easier to take her out of the car and just use the stroller. Now that my second is 7 months it all depends on the weather. If it's hot I take him out of the seat and if it's not I still plop it on the stroller. Even if you don't use it as a travel system for long, you'll use the car seat and stroller individualy for quite a while. Our only regret was we invested in an expensive one first and then with our second so close to the first we had to get a double stroller/ travel system so we had to shop cheap then. I wish I would have went with the least expensive the first time around. But hind sight is 20/20....or so I've heard!
