Breast Reduction
Has anyone here had one done...
If so...i'm really interested in hearing you take on how it went....what was involved....and if your happy with the results

I'm sorry to hear you are thinking of reduction. Is it for medical reasons? Sorry for being nosey.

Sharni I had a friend who had one. She was young, 21. When she became pregnant they returned to their previous size and remained large again. Her scars were pretty visible ( complete circles around her areaolas with a line going down then a semi circle surrounding the bottom half of the entire breast) and the pain was pretty intense for a bit. I think she is still glad she had them done.......She fears how large they would have grown after pregnancy if she had not had the surgery.

Thank you for not being mad for the question. I know that for women with large breasts the strain on their backs is very bad. Have a neighbor who had it done to relieve back troubles. She had a little pain but her back troubles are gone. I know it well be fine.

I remember you mentioning elsewhere that there was reduced sensitivity...Was it extremely noticable?

Not extremely noticable, no.
It varies per woman though.
AND it can vary per breast. My right nipple is my FUN nipple. 
My left nipple is a bit less responsive...and time also is a factor.
After many years, I still seem to be re-developing sensation in my breasts.
Also the type of surgery can make a big difference. In one kind the nipple is actually REMOVED and grafted back on, and the other surgery all the blood flow is retained in the nipple and much more sensitivity remains. I had the latter.
It was well worth it but after a period of many years, you will still have the *shadows* from where your breasts used to hang (kind of fun to see how LOW they went LOL)
and you'll have a chest wall that is accustomed muscle-wise to HOLDING those breasts...so there can be a funny ridge.
I can try to take a photo for you if you'd like, so you can see what I mean.

I understand.
I had 2 + pounds removed from each side. That would be 4 one pound cartons of butter strapped to my upper chest on a daily basis...just thinking about it wears me out.
The doctor was wonderful as far as screening me to have it done. He had me talk to a psychologist before he'd schedule the reduction so he could see if I had unrealistic expectations about what I was hoping for....
one of the questions was how much did I think this would change my life....in different areas.
I THOUGHT my answers were gonna be my un-doing because I wasn't looking for life-altering miracles. I just wanted a bit more comfort AND to be able to buy/wear a regular shirt..
apparently having low expectations can be a good thing sometimes LOL LOL.
I will try later tonite for a photo so you can see what I mean.

I know a lady who I used to work with that had breast reduction surgery and all went well for her. Don't know when or even for sure if you will go ahead, but if you do, you know you have the prayers of my wife and I that everything will work out wonderfully for you.

I'm pretty happy with the results...it's kind of fun to have 'em PERKY after all these years. I rarely even bother with a bra any more Sharniqua, but yes, you'll certainly have many more options after surgery.
Feels good to just let 'em flop in the wind! LOL
