Just west of Peoria is the Wildlife Prairie Park. It's several thousand acres with wildlife (native to Illinois) in natural settings with room to move around and be seen by the public. Lots of good presentations given and some accommodations for folks that would like to spend the night. Neat place and a little bit unique. Several great parks along the Illinois River just north and south of Peoria along with fish and wildlife reserves. Lots to see and do around here.
Does sound too bad, does it?
