"I think you were about to kiss me," I said. At first the interruption had annoyed me, but when I saw who it was, I felt intrigued. I wanted to see how curious the nurse was. I added softly, "If you lose control and go for my neck, I'm sure I'll be happy to have a nurse handy!"

The vampire pulled me close. He had strong arms and a firrm grip, his hands on both my arms. I let myself relax, my lips upturned toward him. He kissed me, a very strong, masculine kiss. I sighed, opened my mouth, and felt the tip of his tongue touch mine. Sensing my willingness, he let go of my arms. I slid my left hand up, behind his neck, and felt his right hand move down my back, touching my bare skin, then resting lightly on my rear.

"So how is it, kissing a vampire?" the nurse asked.

I broke away from the kiss and smiled at her, "Safe enough, so far. If you want to take the chance, I'd be willing to share."
