One could argue though that the problem is that we are no longer allowed to fight wars in the way they need to be fought. You cannot fight a war based on popular opinion. We have tried to make war a pretty thing that plays well on the evening news so one side or the other can politically speaking domestically can show how their ideas are the best or the other sides in the worst. When in reality "war is a means to a political end" and you do what ever needs to be done (short of torture, and out right cruelty) to win.

Wars are not something to be entered into lightly and I feel that the conflicts we are currently entered into were done so very very lightly. No consideration was made to how to get out, and what could be considered a victory. No thought or planning was in place at the start of these wars. The American public was not willing to accept what needs to be done to win these wars.

I'm done rambling now.
