I don't date either, Mr. Lil frowns upon it, but would pay without even discussing it.

The idea of a date is to be together. Not to reconcile your expenses in an effort to keep things equitable.

Think of it as an investment in your future. On your 50th wedding anniversary, are you going to regret having spent a couple of bucks for dinner while dating?
