I do hope everyone has a great day ... even if you're not from the US. :)

Thanks DB, and to you and yours! :)

Happy Birthday to all you Americans.

Here's to treason!

Oldfart 07-04-2011 07:49 PM

Treason with a good reason.

So long as I'm the arbiter of what constitutes a good reason.

We can't get all democratic with this.

Remember, the USA was founded as a treason against HRH George III of England.

Lord Snow 07-04-2011 08:12 PM

I agree Oldfart, it was treason with a great reason. No taxation without representation was just one of them. However, it was still treason.

Oldfart 07-04-2011 09:20 PM

We're tapdancing towards the freedom fighter/terrorist chestnut.

We won't upset the birthday party.

Lord Snow 07-04-2011 09:38 PM

More or less in my initial post I was referring to the scene in the movie National Treasure, where Nicholas Cage was toasting the treason that men who signed the Declaration of Independence committed by signing said document.

Oldfart 07-04-2011 09:52 PM

Sorta thought that.

That sounds like a dangerously slippery slope. :p

And I have a SOFA leading to it.
