Bodacious

For some extremely strange and mysterious reason, I used the word bodacious today. Yes, I said it. Bodacious. I don't think i've said (or even thought of) that word since probably 1991.

What phrases or sayings over the years did you use frequently? I definitely used bodacious in the 80s... and sweet in the 90s.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to find my neon orange shirt, acid wash jeans, and scrunchy socks that I can look bodacious again.

:D

Far out man! In the 70's :D

Lilith 08-27-2004 07:23 AM

"awesome" makes me feel old and I avoid "totally" for fear that the 80's police will come and make me give back my lace fingerless gloves :D

Bodacious reminds me of Officer and a Gentlemen. When he sees the girls walk by as they are doing push-ups and says "Did you see the bodacious ta ta's on her" :D

LOL...as far as I know it comes from my youth in the 60's. The Beatles were first called the Fabulous Four and then it was shortened to the Fab Four.
People could look absolutely "fab" The show was "fab".......yet something tells me I am wrong and it probably comes from being.....

A fragment of an immunoglobulin molecule formed when the moleclule is digested by papain and containing one antigen binding site, one complete light chain and part of one heavy chain also called fab fragment. :)

Catch22 08-27-2004 12:08 PM

F A B was indeed from the Thunderbirds. It also was fab. There is a movie? I am SO old I can remember. "Like man you rang"

Words that have haunted my speech in the past:

Like
Awesome!
Basically
Cool
Cha-Ching (remember that one?)

LixyChick 08-29-2004 04:34 PM

I absolutely abhor the expression "cool beans"!!!!!

I've never said it but I know someone who still uses it to this day. Arrrrgggg! I could smack her upside the head whenever she says it!

I still say "groovy" though...so someone can smack me now!
