"Screwples" Pixie's Interactive Soap (OOC)
 

Okay all. I've decided to start Pixies official "Soap Opera." But before we get started with the storylines, we need some main characters.

As creator of the thread, I will take on the task of starting the first story line after a suitable number of starting characters have been established.

The setting of the Soap will be in a small city called Lakeview. Specifically I chose not to include a state, country, or other specifics as to not generalize the climates and/or leave out anyone. Just picture it as any city you've ever seen portrayed in any television Soaps. Of course, it will be set present day.

This thread won't be meant to be a primarily "sexual" thread although there will, no doubt be some heated love scenes in progress throughout the story.

You will bring your characters to life in this thread. When creating your characters, choose people of different backgrounds and get creative. You'll want to include the following statistics in your description:

And a general photo if possible on how you'd like people to percieve your character. If you don't provide a photo, you'll want to provide us with a detailed description of your characters appearance.

Just so you can get ready for the first post of the actual story, the first scene will take place in a high-class resturaunt/cocktail bar at a Charity Ball. You can be a bartender, waiter, guest, or anything else so don't think you have to neccessarily be a debutante to be there.

I hope everyone enjoys this thread. I will be posting my character here as soon as i decide on the photograph I want to post with my stats. And as soon as a good handful of people have committed to this, I'll open the official "Screwples" post.

Occupation: Heiress/Owner of resturaunt "Bella Luna"
Marital Status: Single
Background: Caitlin is the only (known) child of Billionaire Lincoln Matthews, owner of a Real Estate empire. She was raised in a life of wealth and privelege and has never wanted for anything. Upon the death of her grandmother, Grace, Caitlin as the only living blood relative, inherited the once small, run-down resturaunt and has with extremely hard work and diligence made it a thriving 5 star resturaunt and the "in" place to be. Caitlin's mother died upon her birth and so she was raised by her no-nonsense shrewd grandmother who taught her everything there was to being an elegant, well-bred, woman. Her father dotes over her and wants only the best for his only child and would do ANYTHING to make sure she has it. For all of the coddling, she is a strong-willed, independant woman who is well-rounded and well-liked by most...although there may be a few who would rather see her laying in a dumpster somewhere....heaven knows why *innocent look*

Full Name: Nicholas (Nick) James Andrews
Age: 30
Occupation: Detective with the Lakeview Police Department
Marital Status: Widower
Brief History: Nick was new to town, being there less than a year. He had been a detective with the police force of a much larger city. His wife, Lisa, was a paramedic in the same city, and they were both at the same crime scene when it happened. Nick had just arrived on scene as Lisa and her partner were trying to pull an accident victim from a burning car. They almost had the person free when the car exploded, Lisa killed instantly. Nick watched it all hapen, unable to do anything. For months after that, he tried to do his job. Day in day out, seeing the scene replay in his mind he finally had to get out. He took a transfer to the smaller Lakeview and a promotion to Detective. He liked the quiet air of the town.

Nicks past wasn't anything spectacular. His 5 prior years on the force were anything from notable. It would have taken him at least 5 more years where he was to make detective, but the only open position with Lakeview was the detective slot and his service record made him eligible.

Age: 24
Occupation: Cafe worker
Marital Status: single
Brief History: Pauls life has been that of normality, raised in a middle class family he never encountered times of great riches. When he was nearing the age of 18 his parents; David and Margaret, and his sister Michelle moved away. Paul, not wishing to leave his friends in the city opted to live in the boarding house; The Lakeview Institute. Now, a student studying politics and law at university Paul spends his free time with his friends, and working for his would-be-father John Rains who owns the local cafe "can't rain all the time"

In the recent years the workers of "cant rain all the time" have come into strife with billionaire Lincoln Matthews, Matthews plans to buy John out of his business, to quash what he see's as "competition" to his daughters restaurant. Paul and Caitline crossed paths when Paul was 17 when he ran into her on the ski slopes of the alps when on a trip with his school.

Name: Cassandra Louise Doucet “Casey”
Age: 28
Occupation: Licensed Counselor
Marital Status: Divorced
Brief History: Casey was born and raised in a small southern Louisiana town, but moved to Lakeview to go to the nearby university for Psychology. She married at the age of 22 to Eric Williams, an investment banker. Although she was having an affair of her own with an undisclosed individual, she called for divorce two years ago when she caught him sleeping with her best friend Elizabeth Carrolton.

Awarded significant alimony for her “mental anguish”, she now spends her time hobnobbing with the other affluent townsfolk and working at Lakeview Hospital in the psychology ward.

Full Name: Jade Marie Jorgensen
Age: 22
Marital Status: Single and loving every minute of it
Occupation: Student during the day Bartender at night

After living in Lakeview for about six years, you’d think Jade would know how to keep out of trouble. If it wasn’t for the art program at the university, she would’ve been gone long ago. Her mother, having left her in the care of her aunt six years ago; ran off to become “the next big thing” and her father, well, she’d never know about him. After living with her mother in the city, she wasn’t ready to leave and expressed her feelings the only way she knew how; to be a rebellious teenager, and the reputation just seemed to stick to her; she never learned to keep out of trouble. If it wasn’t stealing a police car, or the burning down of the old farm on the outskirts of Lakeview; it was usually getting into fights, stealing, or vandalism. Let’s just say she’s spent a few nights in the local jail. It is as a student that she now keeps her sanity and finds her muse, her way of dealing with all her anger. As a bartender, she’s come to learn how to deal with all of these people whom snubbed her when she first came to Lakeview, and she’s also learned a few other things.....

Underneath all of that rough exterior beats the heart of an artist. Her dreams someday include fame and fortune to support her ailing aunt, to find her place in society, and to maybe find the father she never had.

Full Name: Jonathan (John) Marcus Rains
Age: 35
Occupation: Cafe Owner
Marital Status: Widowed
Brief History: A former executive of a chain of restaraunts around the country, with the headquarters situated in neighbouring city Crystal Peak, Johns story is the classic rags to riches and back again story. When John was a small child his parents ran away, leaving him all alone. Eventually John was adopted by the loving Patricia and Herbert Michealson, refusing to create a new identity for their adopted child they allowed him to keen his surname intact.

When John was in his late teens Patricia died after suffering from cancer for many years, and Herbert soon followed with a stroke. This left John to fend for himself, he scraped his money together and finished his education managing to graduate with degrees in business management and culinery. As luck would have it the directors of High Times Food Inc. we're in need of a young and fresh exective, John applied and thanks to his diligence and qualifications got the Job.

He managed to live the high life for over 7 years, over which period he married and became a father, until while on holiday with his wife and son his car crashed, John survived... his family however did not survive.

After months of seclusion he returned to work and got on with his life, all was fine until one day he recieved a phone call, it was from his biological mother. He couldnt believe it, after over 25 years of living his life without her his mother decides to rekindle their relationship. He decided to have none of it and vowed never to talk or see her again.

This only added to Johns anguished pysch which led to alcohol problems, loss of job, friends and money and eventually drug addiction.

for little over 2 years he was a wreck, addicted to various drugs, living in squats, until however he was rescued by a young man named Paul Simons, with a new perspective on life John managed to break free from his addictions and get his life back on track only to find his mother had overdosed on anti depressives. While he was of course upset at this he managed to recover quickly, and used money he inherited to open his own cafe "Cant Rain All The Time"

At this time John is in a legal battle with Lincoln Matthews, who wishes to buy out Johns cafe.
