Of course you're welcome to your opinions and preferences, but I think saying that you "will not sink to that level" is insulting to people who choose to differ. And no-one can "make" you feel like less of a person. That's your reaction to whatever they do. Take responsibility for it.

I can't help but wonder why pepsigirl would think of facials as demeaning. Maybe there's been a bad experience that would explain that. I would think anything done between two people who love each other and enjoy experiencing each other could only be called wonderful.

On the other hand, no doubt if one of the people involved was being pressured into something, maybe it would seem demeaning. It's awfully easy to think our feelings are likely those experienced by others.
