But then from inside the house:

And then, looking at the inside basement wall from left to right, the original drywall hole, to determine where the water was getting into the basement from:

And then of course, several holes in the concrete and/or cinder block wall to feed the pipe through:

And said pipe heads downwards, takes a right angle turn to meet up with the original plumbing intake:

And continues to run along the wall, with a third hole in the drywall:

and:

Finally coming up to the old juncture. There are now something like 3 internal shut-off quarter-turn valves:

Lastly, the view from the laundry room entryway. From here, the water is just the the left, slightly behind the camera view, which is why we originally thought that was the culprit.

Oh, and I used to have a picture of the plumbers estimate, but I accidentally deleted that when I want to re-take pictures in better light this morning. The actual estimate as $6785, with $219 marked as "paid" for the original consult & puzzlement. Don't feel like hunting that down and re-taking/editing that pic.

OMG, so sorry to hear what you're going through. Hope it is fixed soon!!

They are having some nasty times Down Under, but from what I have heard, the fire conditions have somewhat abated.

Yeah, I have a couple of friends there, but AFAIK, everyone came through OK.

And now it's the turn of Pixie's members in Eastern Canada (particularly Montreal) to be worried:

Sure wish we could convince Mother Nature to do things in moderation.

I hope the storm went north of NS where we have a special Pixie. :wish:

Saw on the weather channel this afternoon, the fires in Florida can be seen from space.

dicksbro 05-10-2017 03:21 AM

Wouldn't it be nice to have the weathermen come on the air today and say ... "Well, nothing to report today. Skies will be sunny with moderate temperatures, light breezes and the sound of chirping birds will be the only disturbances Mother Nature will be offering us." Ahhh.

gekkogecko 05-10-2017 09:22 AM

Oddly enough, that's pretty much the description of the weather around here today. Won't last long, I'm sure.

dicksbro 05-27-2017 05:32 AM

I did have a weatherman on the radio one time report ...

"There's a 30% chance of rain ... no ... there's 100% chance ... it's raining now!" I loved it.

gekkogecko 12-08-2017 10:08 AM

...and now it's wildfires in California. Who is running for their lives this time?

gekkogecko 01-30-2019 12:54 PM

Hay, peeps in the Midwest: DO NOT go and play in the snow. This is nothing to laugh at, people have already died.
