This photo was taken at a competition in June. The competition was between 9 beauty salons who had to do the makeovers and had every possible beauty treatment available to them over a period of time. Check out the before and after photos.

And still some people wonder why I continuously reject the societal ideas of 'beauty'.

Ug.

People can't believe "it's her" when I show them pics from my grad.

I am too fidgety to sit there for makeup, etc.

My pat answer is always, "Hey, I still get laid."

LMAO. I think it's interesting that they all ended up with long hair.

When I bother to curl my hair, wear foundation and eyeliner, and put myself into a nice dress....I am often told I can make heads turn. However, for the daily grind it's too much trouble! I just pull my hair into a french twist, add a little mascara and lipstick, and head out in my dress pants and loafers! Ya gotta love me the way I am. :p

One of the reasons I recently cut my hair was that it gave me an easy out all the time. I need to make a more concerted effort not just to be pretty but to care for myself.

I can't imagine the wasted money. I was saying to Mr. Lil last night that for the price of a couple dozen missiles we could end some of the problems caused by poverty and fighting over resources in impoverished places. The same could be said for the $$ spent on plastic surgeries for beauty and youth reasons.

Wow, some pretty drastic differences there. Do they have a straight men's version of that contest anywhere? I could definitely use a bit of work.

Really, is that what they do on that show? I've never watched it. Guess I'll take a pass on it too. Oh well, it didn't hurt to ask I guess.

Now, before we all go off making wild assumptions ... did I miss it or did PF actually tell us WHICH were the BEFORE and WHICH were the AFTER pictures? ;)
